Group Managing Director at PeoplePlus

Thanks so much to my amazing PeoplePlus UK colleagues… Laura Savage Emma Grigson Elizabeth Squire Ellen Sculthorpe Dr Craig Corrigan Nick Moss Sarah Proctor Jenna Jack Rachel Richards James Clark-Allan FIEP Anne Milton …who do so much to bring these extraordinary events alive. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 They are ALWAYS so reaffirming of the fact that there are hundreds of employers who are truly passionate about socially progressive recruitment practices. And many more who know that they want to support, but who aren’t sure how to go about it! If your organisation is in either category and you haven’t joined this movement…you need to drop me a line!! 🪶 #socialrecruitmentcovenant #whatwedomatters

Hosted at Lidl GB HQ, today’s #SRAG Q4 summit brought together thought leaders, change-makers, and advocates for social recruitment, all united by the shared goal of creating opportunities for everyone. Key topics included: Hosts Lidl GB kicking off with Momena C. focusing on their journey of socially responsible recruitment, Darren B. shared how Timpson Group lead the way in employing ex-offenders, with 12% of their workforce coming from this group, supported by prison training academies, ROTL and New Futures Network Christy Acton from Standing Tall highlighted their approach to reducing homelessness by combining job opportunities with secure host housing, helping 80% of people stay in work after a year. 55/Redefined's Simon Long discussed the need to focus on skills and motivation rather than age, given the growing proportion of over-50s in the workplace. Jonny Gifford from the Institute for Employment Studies shared an insightful presentation and research into social class. Our panel discussion featuring Laura Davis, James Clark-Allan FIEP, John Chapman and Craig Elliot addressed challenges like economic inactivity and skills shortages, and explored ways businesses can engage with local and national initiatives. Attendees were asked to also bring a toy with them to donate to Lidl's Christmas toy appeal for Neighbourly. Thank you to everyone who attended, spoke, contributed and donated and to our fabulous chair Anne Milton , let’s keep the momentum going! What was your top takeaway from the summit?
