In a move that raises questions about Walmart's commitment to diversity and inclusion, the company will phase out the Center for Racial Equity, a nonprofit initiative it funded with $100 million in 2020 for a five-year period. Additionally, Walmart will discontinue programs that support suppliers owned by women, minorities, veterans, or members of the LGBTQ community. Moreover, Walmart will prohibit third-party sellers from listing certain LGBTQ-themed items on Walmart.com #DEI #diversity #retail https://lnkd.in/gDr3uU83

In the workplace people should be valued for their own personal characteristics - skills, work-ethic, ability - rather than factors that have zero to do with ability. Do you want your airline pilot to be flying your plane just because DEI skipped them through training with relaxed rules just to say they were DEI? I would rather have the most competent pilot regardless of race, gender, whatever. Ditch DEI and go back to working hard and smart as a principle in every vocation.

I love shopping Walmart, I'm a woman and not white. It's just about shopping.

The very idea of hiring and advancement based on merit is so...so...correct! That means everyone hired and promoted will be as a result of their abilities. Just as it should be.

That's what is wrong these days everyone wants to talk about what should be done or how it should be done and how every one should stand together but in the end the reality is the very few who are willing to take the stand and say no more are unable to because society sees it as defiance and unacceptable as a whole but individually secretly support them and wish they had the strength to take a stand themselves. When in the end it's not society who defines who we are but its ourselves who define who we are individually based off what someone else thinks instead of looking inside yourself and defining who you are for yourself. So it's a neverending cycle of the blame game

I for one, will not patronize Walmart or any organization that does not promote equity. There have been longstanding barriers to many classes of people, inclusion & equity should be a priority for everyone.

At some point, we’ll recognize that these companies were never acting on principals.

This whole lgbtq+ thing, gender difference and race equity is falling apart everywhere. You can not talk about woman, man, color or much anything anymore anywhere. The moment you do and somehow want to support that comunity you get an impossible amount of back lash. I see lots of companies and alike going just dropping it. Easier to avoid than to cure. Do nothing and you're name remains. Step in and you fall. HARD!

Well I know where I'll never shop again.

DEI just "DIED"! And it's about time.
