Proud to see our Skills for Employment program featured in the latest Harvard Business Review article on inclusive recruitment. At Ingka Group, we believe in the power of opportunity and the importance of supporting the social and economic integration of refugees. Our commitment to providing employment, language training, and skills development has already supported over 2,900 refugees across 24 countries, with 70% securing jobs at IKEA or elsewhere. It’s good to see the article highlighting the work IKEA Australia has been doing to support refugee’s an example, led by Harriet Pope. As the HBR article highlights, expanding our talent acquisition to include refugees isn't just the right thing to do—it's smart business. Thanks for the great write up Betina Szkudlarek and Jeannie Eun Su Lee. We're committed to continuing this journey, and we’ve shared our Skills for Employment toolkit for other businesses who want to join us in supporting refugees. #Diversity #Inclusion #RefugeeSupport #IKEA Research: Why Inclusive Hiring Must Include Refugees (hbr.org)

The article I wrote for the IPANZ Public Sector journal was published this month. I wanted to look at the intersection between Pasifika values and Public Service Motivation and highlight why we need to pay more attention to the cultural values of members of our public sector workforce. I also highlight considerations for cross-cultural leadership. Thanks to everyone who helped by sharing their perspectives and thoughts! https://lnkd.in/gvSSCiiu

🌍 Thrilled to Share Some Exciting News! 🇺🇳 I am incredibly honored to announce that our team of youth have been given the extraordinary opportunity to attend the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. This milestone is not just a personal achievement but a testament to the impactful guidance and unwavering support I’ve received from mentors throughout my budding career. Their wisdom has not only shaped my professional path but has also instilled in me principled leadership, knowledge and methodologies I carry into every challenge and opportunity. We have the great opportunity to present to delegates, it is a presentation that is close to the heart of our work at Northwest Indigenous Council focusing on “Glocal Perspectives of Indigenous Policy in the urban environment,” an area where I believe we can make substantial strides through global governance and a shared commitment to addressing issues pertaining to indigenous rights. I am so exited to share insights, learn from global leaders, and become grounded in cross-cultural understandings. Beyond the conference halls, I am also looking forward to exploring New York, checking out museums, Wall Street, and theatres. We intend to transcend borders and ideologies. This journey is more than just a professional engagement; it’s an opportunity to observe and take it all in. I carry with me the lessons learned from my mentors, the support of my peers, and the will to make a difference. Here’s to making every moment count, seeking out new perspectives, and embracing the adventure that lies ahead! #UN #ProfessionalGrowth #Mentorship #GlobalImpact #TravelAdventures #indigenous #glocal #governance #leadership #innovation #globalgovernance

I have just written the below post for Expat Advising. A post that comes from my daily work and my heart. It highlights the amazing skills a TCK acquires from living abroad. Always easy to be a TCK? No. But: TCKs grow up amongst many cultures and when they connect in classrooms or at sports, they connect with "a person". Not someone from X, Y, or Z country. With all the issues in the world today, that skill is priceless when hiring an employee or choosing a friend. Add on top, that they master change like no other and can often bring new perspectives. #resilience I have two TCK´s. One left home yesterday. At just 16, he demonstrated independence, self-loyalty, and strong decision-making skills by deciding that moving back to Denmark was the right future for him. Change, distance, or concerns about adapting to the culture or making friends were never factors in our conversations about his decision. #resilience #tck #giveyouthavoice #expatlife #birdlauncher
On International Youth Day, we send a Shoutout to all Young Third Culture Kids (TCKs)! 🌱 🌐 You are the next generation of expats and global leaders. 🌐 Giving you a voice in our world is important as you have grown up alongside people from all over the world, have far fewer biases, and have mastered being the new kid in class - probably more than once. #adaptability This has made you incredibly resilient, with an open mind and a genuine interest in people - regardless. 👊 The world needs your open mind! We are proud of you for managing everything you do. ❤️ Expat Advising #internationalyouthday #thirdculturekids #resilience #globalleaders #expats
