Your a business owner & hiring a contractor, start asking yourself this question.. Are they accommodating to YOUR needs? They have to understand your business and how the project will impact it & create a plan that limits disruption to operations.. Take this project we complete for Quality car wash. If you know this corner, it’s busy with people coming and going all day. Quality prides themselves on exceptional customer service, so having painters working around the pumps all day doesn’t align with that.. What does that mean for us? We work from close to a couple hours before opening to achieve the following: ✅ No disruptions to operations ✅ Limit safety concerns ✅ As if we were never there when open ✅ Fresh facility for customers to enjoy So I have a question.. Are your contractors accommodating your needs, or are they prioritizing their convenience?

Scheduling jobs. Oof. We hear from so many folks in #retail operations and store facilities maintenance that scheduling jobs is the bane of their existence. A store employee submits a work order for electrical, or plumbing, or HVAC. The service provider responds with a proposal and proposed time to do the job. The person in retail ops or facilities has to approve the proposal and then coordinate with the store manager and service provider to find a mutually convenient time for THEM. Multiply this by X number of stores and Y number of work orders per store, and all of the sudden you have a completely unwanted full-time job. Worksmith makes scheduling easy. Our software separates pricing approval from scheduling, so that an admin can provide pricing approval (or have a proposal automatically approved based on business rules) but allow the store manager and service provider to find a mutually agreeable time to complete the job. And, with completion photos and completion reports that the service provider can upload through the Worksmith app while onsite, the admin can see that the work has been done, even if they are miles away.
