Senior Business Development Manager at Paint Tech Training Academy

At Painttech, we see students arrive at our centres, from a wide range of backgrounds. Their ages differ, their experiences differ, the routes they have taken career wise has differed. Last week at our centre in Edenbridge we welcomed TJ Anderson, and Oberhiri Etefia onto our pricing and estimating course. Whilst TJ has steadily developed his business over the last few years, Oberhiri, who had previously worked with brushes and rollers, only launched her business last year after seeing the opportunity that spraying and modern decorative techniques offered. It really doesn’t matter what the starting point is for individuals, at Painttech we give people the skills that allow them to surge forward. Both of these students have undertaken a range of Painttech’s specialist decorative programmes. That in itself is brilliant, however the one vital thing this pair share is enthusiasm. A wise chap once said, “Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your objective. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” If enthusiasm is the electricity of life, then Oberhiri could probably power a chunk of the National Grid. Having a dream is one thing, having enthusiasm is another, but in order to translate these things into something meaningful, well ,this requires the support of others. Both TJ, and Oberhiri benefitted from the support offered by the CITB, in particular by Farhan Sattar, Sam McLaughlin and Alison Stone obtaining the funding to meet their training needs. Massive thanks to you guys. This month Painttech welcomed the first students onto the newly developed business development and mentoring programme . Success in the painting and decorating industry requires more than just physical skills. It demands a deep understanding of business dynamics, technical expertise, digital skills and adaptability to a constantly changing environment. To thrive in this competitive field, painters and decorators must possess the necessary practical skills and the business skills to develop a strategic plan for sustainable growth. This mentor programme is a true game changer for your Decorating business.
