Balancing tradition and innovation is tough, but crucial. We bought a manufacturing company with designs untouched for 30 to 40 years. We kept the original design but added new enhancements and capabilities. The challenge was to retain what worked while introducing new innovations. Employees could see the value in both the old and the new. You don’t always have to reinvent the wheel. Just adapt that which already classically works for modern challenges. Keeping the bones while adding muscle is how we respect the past and build the future.

🌟 Simple Innovation vs Complex Innovation 🌟 In a world often entangled in complexity, let's pause and reflect on the wisdom of E.F. Schumacher: “Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction.” As changemakers, we're constantly challenged to innovate, to create, and to solve problems. Yet, in this pursuit, we mustn't overlook the power of simplicity. Complexity isn't always synonymous with progress; sometimes, it's a barrier to it. What is Simplicity? - It's about distilling the essence. - Stripping away the unnecessary. - Finding elegant solutions to intricate problems. True genius lies in simplification. It's about daring to defy convention. Today, let's embrace the courage to simplify. Let's challenge ourselves to streamline processes, communicate clearly, and prioritize what truly matters. Let's be the torchbearers of innovation by championing simplicity in a world that often glorifies complexity. At the Schumacher Society, we're committed to fostering this mindset. Join us in our mission to cultivate genius through simplicity. Reach out today to work with us, to collaborate and to discuss initiatives. Beyond the practical gains of resilience and adaptability, this approach cultivates a corporate ethos akin to a redwood forest—a living ecosystem that thrives for centuries. 🌲 Consider this: By anchoring decisions in purpose and long-term vision, Toyota doesn’t merely build cars; it sows seeds of legacy. Each bolt tightened, each assembly line synchronized, becomes a brushstroke on the canvas of time. The result? Not just automobiles, but a narrative etched into the annals of industry—an ode to unwavering commitment and the art of enduring excellence. 🎨🌟
📢 The Toyota Way's first principle emphasizes a long-term philosophy in decision-making, prioritizing purpose over short-term gains. ✅ Key points include a philosophical sense of purpose, value creation, and responsibility/self-reliance. ✅ This approach guides the company indefinitely, shaping decisions, projects, and employee behavior for resilience and adaptability. #Toyota #CompanyCulture #LongTermThinking

In nearly 30 years of driving change, our clients at Porsche Consulting have become familiar with our workshop rules – a set of principles that, more often than not, have been adopted and internalized. To this day, we are greeted by sights like these flipcharts in our clients' offices, a testament to the enduring impact of our collaboration. These rules embody our approach of working closely with teams, rolling up our sleeves together, and aiming for tangible results. We are grounded in the belief that insights and decisions must always be anchored in numbers, data, and facts – they are the cornerstone of a strategic vision and the fuel for smart implementation. As we continue to build on our heritage, we see these rules not just as guidelines for workshops, but as a mindset that drives continuous improvement and pragmatic action. How have these rules shaped your approach, and what lasting change have they inspired in your organization? #PorscheConsulting #StrategicVision #SmartImplementation #WorkshopWisdom

How Can a Financial Specialist Become a Driver of Innovation/Transformation? What do you think is the criterion that determines the interconnection between components? – It's a "Function". We often organize a department, assign it certain functions and responsibilities. But in the process, we add various other functions. This leads to system overload, a shift in focus. But it can also be a source of alternatives. In this case, functional analysis is a continuous part of management. And knowledge of system development laws: ➡️ For managing оf the evolution. ➡️ For the ability to prepare resources and potential scenarios in time. Example: BMW Scandal As you may know, BMW released a 2024 sales forecast showing a sharp decline due to braking system issues in cars from the manufacturer Continental. This means that the world's second-largest economy is experiencing a loss of revenue from the industry, which is also the largest automotive market in the world. BMW stated that they expect their profit margin before interest and taxes to be between 6% and 7% in 2024, having previously forecasted a figure of 8% to 10%. Plus, the production of cheap Chinese electric vehicles has turned the page on the fuel-based vehicle market, making it a thing of the past. A systemic market effect. Could this have been predicted? The trend had been evident for a long time. Increasingly strict environmental legislation (CO2) is forcing companies to make tough decisions in favor of eco-friendly solutions. Why didn’t BMW restructure its processes earlier? ▶️ Did they not see it? ▶️ Do they not know how? ▶️ Do they lack resources? Of course not. What do you think the reason is? The key issue is internal misalignment within the system. Trade unions resist changes that could lead to massive layoffs, creating obstacles. This trend has persisted for years. That’s why it’s crucial to foresee system development, ensure alignment with other components, and plan resources for future growth. In both large and small companies, I’ve learned that mindset is the foundation for achieving strategy. Even with shared values and clear missions, something often holds teams back, especially during wartime. Much depends on psychological resilience and process thinking. My message: invest in personal development and prioritize it when building your team. Focus on the most relevant information and efficiency. https://lnkd.in/eV5T9mfE https://lnkd.in/eJFbmCwE
