Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme (NDP3®) Modules 1-4 - 7th Oct 📆 The Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme (NDP3®) treatment approach has one of the strongest evidence bases for use with children with developmental verbal dyspraxia/childhood apraxia of speech. The NDP3® approach provides a multi-layered, multi-target treatment approach involving working on several layers at the same time. The approach works from the child’s strengths: what they can already do and builds skills in small achievable steps from this point. NDP3® training is modular and split into two courses. The first training (modules 1 & 2) examines the current evident-base and NDP3® assessment and intervention approach. Modules 3 & 4 provide you with the opportunity to practice, through a series of supported assessments, treatment planning and goal-setting exercises. There’s the opportunity to raise clinical queries and to problem-solve case management issues. NDP3® training is also available as a view anytime, online learning programme using pre-recorded sessions for those who find it difficult to attend in person. 🗣️ AAC is a valuable therapy tool and type of intervention that can be used in countless situations. I love figuring out ways to personalize AAC devices to the individual’s unique needs. When it fits, it works! I have seen too many times when AAC did not accommodate someone’s visual, motor, language, or sensory needs which created frustration and abandonment of the device. 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏽♀️If you would like to know more about AAC- not just the why we use it, but the HOW we use it with Aphasia and PPA, prepare yourself for my upcoming course launch all about PPA. 🔐 Sign up for my interest list in the link below to get early access to this course when it drops. I am SO excited to share this since I struggled early on with planning treatment for those with PPA, using AAC with adults, and navigating a complex insurance world all while feeling such a strong obligation to this population who needs our support and expertise more than ever. Professional development hours will be included* ✨✨Link: https://lnkd.in/d4RERsbe #primaryprogressiveaphasia #aphasia #adultspeechtherapy #FrontotemporalDementia #cognitivefunction #mildcognitiveimpairment #cognitivehealth #dementiaawareness #AACFunding #HighTechSpeech #nonspeaking #alternativeaccess #primaryprogressiveaphasia #slpresources #speechlanguagepathology #highlevelwordfinding #wordfinding #wordretrieval #cognitivecommunication #Slp2be #slpgradstudent #strokerehab #strokerecovery

It’s no secret that providing a Physical Assessment or Exam is a CRITICAL component of caring for your patient. It will help you gather objective information, identify health issues, and craft effective treatment plans. However, after doing some research and talking with the Preceptors in our network, we found out that Learning how to provide an excellent and accurate physical examination is really challenging. To the point where NP students really struggle and lack confidence when it comes to giving a physical exam. The true is classroom training and clinical training are VERY different experiences. Every single one of our preceptors says the same thing: The only way to get better at physical examination is through PRACTICE! With the help of Dr. Sandra Pagenta, DNP, APRN-BC, and Jackie King, APRN, FNP-BC, we hope to give you a foundation so you can go to your rotation with more confidence. Now, at NPHub, we made it our mission to connect you with the highest quality preceptors in the country. We also wanted to help our students with common concerns that they’ve expressed over the years, one of them being doing physicals. Therefore, we created a step-by-step guide that will show you how to advance your physical assessment skills as well as treat other common conditions that you will encounter along your journey. When did putting students through extreme training regimes, high pressure situations and making them feel vulnerable be credible teaching methods? More and more students enter full-time vocational training at the age of 16 and are then put through gruelling teaching methods that exhaust them physically and mentally. Students below the age of 18 are being pushed to breaking point by the people that have a duty of care over them. It is not okay for students to pass out or vomit during or after class. It is not okay for students to be singled out and humiliated to teach them to learn under pressure. It is not okay to train students without adequate rest. It is not okay to expect students to survive intense training when they are not being taught how to look after themselves. As more funded dance courses for 16–18 year olds are becoming available it is vital that the providers understand the mental and physical effects of constant intense training. Fulfil your duty of care and be educated in anatomy and physiology and avoid doing unintentional harm through ignorance. #philipcutts #danceeducation #injuryprevention #safeguarding #MSK #dancemedicine Philip Cutts Pain Management Rehabilitation Annie Fitton Danielle Emms Emily Redding Joanna Smith Kayleigh Sargeant Leroy Johnson Lisa Melia Melissa Bartlett Michelle Pitkin CMIOSH Susan Kelleher Vikki Emberton

Bias in the Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) exam could unfairly affect therapists' career opportunities by potentially disadvantaging certain groups. This might lead to unequal access to specialized roles and recognition in respiratory care, impacting professional growth and patient care quality. #weneedmoreRPFTtherapist #specialcredentials #RPFT #respiratory #NBRC
I'm shedding light on the bias and unfairness surrounding the RPFT exam, a test that only 10% of therapists hold. Attempting it in 2019 and 2024, I found it nearly impossible, echoing the sentiments of many in our field. Kettering's seminar, while well-known, lacks the depth needed to operate labs effectively. This gap is evident as 4–6 individuals in my area struggled to pass, underscoring a systemic issue affecting our profession. With 24 years of experience, I'm committed to equipping future therapists with essential skills. At 47, I'm eager to learn and impart knowledge to uphold our roles in patient care. Therapists need our support to access crucial resources for a fair shot at passing the RPFT test. Let's empower each other to bridge this knowledge gap and ensure fair opportunities for all aspiring therapists. #RPFT #theworldneedsmorerespiratorytherapist #bias #unfair #knowledge #experience #stopgivingnursesourjobs #thefuturetherapistneedus #credentials #pulmonaryfunctions #NBRC Lori Tinkler, MBA, ICE-CCP Kevin Collins Ralph Stumbo Jr RRT, CPFT
