At QED Legal LLP we have occasionally been burnt by recruiting the RIGHT way. That means: Offering you a consult. A detailed conversation about your push and pull factors and deep diving what you need your next role to be. Then making sure we have your express permission before sending your CV anywhere. Not speccing you to any firm we can read off the Legal 500 and then brow beating you into being represented by us. We have seen this reprehensible behaviour come back into the market with less reputable agents becoming desperate over the last six months. And occassionally we have lost candidates to people who lie as easily as they breathe. But we don't sweat it, because in the long run, acting honourably and transparently is everything. The less reputable agencies come and go. And they're glaringly obvious who they are. They can't answer questions about their clients. They can't give you any details on vacancies.
