Co-Founder and CEO at flutrr, vernacular dating App. IIM Lucknow 1992 batch

Popular dating apps such as Bumble and Tinder spend an average of ₹150 to acquire one female user. At flutrr our CAC per active female user is just ₹13. How did we achieve this? We tapped into the latent demand in an underserved market — women from Tier 2 and 3 cities in India who are seeking a safe alternative to casual dating and arranged marriages. Our brand positioning focuses on enabling long-term, meaningful relationships, resonates deeply with this demographic and caters to this need. All our ad assets are in local languages and portray the happiness of being in a loving, stable relationship – tapping into the emotions and values that matter to this target market. Plus, having The Times Of India as an investor has also amplified our credibility. The formula for a successful dating app is simple: when the number of female users grows, matches increase, male users engage more, and thus, the revenue climbs. Everything moves north. #customeracquisition #datingapp #startup #branding

Safety has to be the top priority for users of Dating Apps and for developers of these apps. I am surprised why we are not specifically talking about security and safety features of the app and posting on this topic in the recent past. This is much needed. Tinder and Bumble were in headlines when Dushyant Murder Case (Jaipur) and Shraddha Murder Case (Delhi) came in news. In Dushyant case, the victim was trapped by a gang for ransom and later murdered. Hon'ble Court announced life sentence to three people found guilty. In Shradhdha's case, it started with dating, love affair and later led to her murder by the convict (verdict awaited). In both cases, the victim who got in touch with the murderers through the respective dating app.

Hi Kaushik, Great on lowering down the CAC. I received almost 30+ female user feedback over the last 6 months. A common problem faced when using Bumble Inc. : Lack of personalized, intentional, and engaging dating experience (rely solely on "likes" or swipes rather than interactions on each personality) As for Tinder, urgently needs to hire a AI bot company to remove the million fake profiles & find a way like LinkedIn to scrutinize fake user profile activity & insert better user guideline to gain authenticity Hope these 2 customer feedback helps your Product team. Cheers!

Absolutely brilliant strategy! Flutrr's approach to tapping into the underserved Tier 2 and 3 cities is a masterstroke. Beyond just localizing ad content, it's crucial to also focus on community-building and trust. Engaging with local influencers and organizing community events can further solidify brand presence and trustworthiness. Additionally, leveraging data analytics to continuously refine user experience and safety features can ensure sustained growth and user satisfaction. Kudos to the team for such innovative thinking!

This is a brilliant strategy! Kaushik Banerjee 🙏 Your approach of tapping into the underserved market in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and positioning flutrr as a platform for meaningful relationships is both smart and impactful. The focus on local languages and emotional resonance sets you apart, and it’s inspiring to see how effectively you've kept the CAC so low while creating value for users.  Kudos to you and the team for building a brand that understands its audience well! Wishing continued success and growth to flutrr!

Most of these dating apps are gateways to gang rapes n honey traps

Can anyone pls invent an invisible icon for these kinda apps, I mean something that won't ever show up in the menu but may appear upon a voice command only! Trust me, you don't have to go to tier 2 even to halve the CAC further 😆
