Life is a Scrum Master Sprint Day 10 extended. I say extended because you may have remembered that on Tuesday, the last day of our Sprint, we started off with a Sprint review and then we wrap up our Sprint that afternoon and we come in on Wednesday morning for our Sprint planning session. Then we come in on Thursday morning for our Sprint retrospective. In my video for Sprint day one, I give my reasons for that. Due to team member schedules as well as time zones, we have decided to have it in a morning and that's the only time that we can do it where everybody can be involved. Without consuming the team with multiple hours of ceremonies at the same time nor getting too far into the next Sprint. This Sprint we actually did end up cancelling a Sprint retrospective for one of the teams because they were all attending a volunteer event with the people that were they report to. So we gave our shout outs in questions during the chat as well as I already have it scheduled to have a one-on-one with each team member over the next few weeks anyway so we'll just do it asynchronously. The second team did have their Sprint retrospective and it was so good. First off, I started doing a gut check with each person. How are you feeling? And then went to each person and just said what's top of their mind and I wrote that theme or topic down. Once everybody gave their one lighter as to what's top of their mind, then we went back through each of those topics to see what were additional thoughts that we needed to gather and talk about our action items. One of the action items was to talk about if we needed to change the schedule of any of our ceremonies, and that requires further discussion next week. Before I wrap up this series by special request, I'm going to do one other video on 2 methods I have used with my teams to do a retrospective over the team ceremonies so that maybe you can figure out what works best for you and your teams while still sticking to the core values and principles of Scrum.
