In my coaching practice, I utilize several different tools and trainings as needed within the coaching container. One of those tools in brainspotting. What is Brainspotting? Brainspotting is based on the belief that certain eye positions can evoke emotions, sensations, and memories because they access specific 'brainspots' where traumatic memories are stored. Brainspotting is a tool that aims to help clients process difficult emotions or traumatic experiences. In brainspotting, different eye positions help identify “brainspots” linked to certain experiences, emotions, or sources of distress. Once identified, individuals trained in brainspotting use mindfulness techniques to help the client access, experience, and process the thoughts and feelings stored in this brainspot. Are you falling for the “effectiveness trap”? Stop looking for the most “effective” way to hit your goal. It might be a TRAP. Especially if you want to build a long-lasting coaching biz. “Whaaaatttttt?” Let me share this story with you. And you will get the point. I have been following this YT channel “Renaissance Periodization” for a few months now. It’s run by Dr. Mike… PhD in sports physiology. He shares the latest science-based tips on how to grow the most muscles. And he makes a lot of inappropriate jokes. Good combo :) I have tried doing the workouts the way he teaches. Perfect technique… deep stretches… slow eccentrics… Myorep match sets… All good stuff… no doubt. It’s highly effective. But extremely bruuuuttttaaal! It is so brutal… Sometimes I stop doing the workouts for a few weeks. I have tried his way multiple times now. But after a few weeks… I start hating my workouts. And then I stop. You can call me ‘less disciplined’. That’s cool. But my goal isn’t to build the most amount of muscles in a short time. I just want to stay in good shape for a lifetime. And I have realized the most effective way ISN’T the right way for me. My workouts should challenge me enough that I grow my muscles. But they shouldn’t destroy me completely. I want to do the workouts that I enjoy and can stay CONSISTENT with. And that brings me to our good ol’ coaching biz… A guru’s way could be the most EFFECTIVE way to build a coaching biz. But if you can’t do it for long… it’s USELESS for you. The WAY you would enjoy doing and won’t quit… is much more useful. Can you learn the lessons from the most "effective way"? 100%. But then give it your own touch. Or find a way that's already in alignment with WHO YOU ARE. That would help you build a long-lasting coaching biz. That’s it for today. Signing off... NP

Free coaching time! Thomas Edison's greatest insights came from holding two ball bearings as he sat in a chair pondering a big question. As he drifted off to sleep, the balls would fall from his hands and make a loud noise as they hit the floor. As he awoke, he noticed that new insights arrived. Today, neuroscience research has informed why this works... Edison was putting his brain in a state of hypnagogic consciousness. Right at the edge of sleep your brain waves change. They slow down. And in this state, we are able to tap into more creative, intuitive thoughts. I'm learning a new coaching method to tap into this wisdom. It's nothing crazy...just deliberate breathing, light body movement, and journaling. I've found it powerful for myself. And I'm holding three spots for free sessions to practice and prove it's efficacy. What to expect: - 50 minutes of guidance - Gentle movement of your body - either seated in a chair or on a yoga mat/towel on the floor (your choice) - High likelihood of fresh thinking that clarifies your path forward.
