Below is an overview of his history and circumstances surrounding his detention: This is unbelievable—I can’t stop crying for the family of Petros Solomon. What a nightmare... September 18, 2001. Background and Role in the Liberation Struggle Early Life and Education:#PetrosSolomon was born in 1951 in Asmara, Eritrea. He pursued education abroad, including studies in the #UnitedStates , before dedicating his life to the liberation movement. Role in the Eritrean Liberation Front (EPLF): Petros was a key member of the Eritrean People's Liberation Front (#EPLF), which led the 30-year war for independence from Ethiopia. As a commander, he played a #strategicrole in planning and executing military operations during the liberation struggle. Post-Independence Leadership: After Eritrea gained independence in 1991, #PetrosSolomon transitioned into #politicalleadership. Rome was not build in a day an old phrase though commonly said but heavily endowed. And though was not build in day, it was not built alone. Having shut down my classroom teaching to pursue fully the non-curriculum education. My 1st action was to advocate the new widows exploitation that's growing rapidly. It is the socio-economic exclusion found in government and donors. With over 3 decades of widowhood life experience to which I have spent 1 decade of it in advocating for widows empowerment. I know that the new widows abuse growing requires attention to nip it at the bud. The real issue to be addressed is widows inclusion and that it's the responsibility of the government to capture and include widows. You see this picture, I never saw it coming but it was God's action to put a seal to the message; the number inclusion "widows must be allowed and used to drive and champion their cause" Thank you Rose Sawart, together with women and men of Africa we will will build widows agenda coming out 2025 at TAWS2025, and it will be part of the Africa We Want Agenda My name is Hope follow me and TAWS - The African Widows Summit and introduce me to widows of your country in my continent as I drive the widows voices across #Africa to ask and see the end in "sin of omission" through inclusive policies and initiatives. #tigf
