Want to master cold calling? Let’s start with how you prepare. Elric Legloire talks through how SDRs should prepare for a cold call in this episode of The Blueprint.. Let’s get started! 1. Eliminate distractions: Turn off all distractions—anything that might break your focus. 2. Adjust your mindset: Cold calling isn’t just about booking demos. Even if you only gather information, that’s valuable. Be prepared for potential objections and have solutions ready for common problems. 3. Practice your pitch: Warm up by practicing your pitch. Understand that rejection is part of the process. Start with low-stakes calls to build confidence and momentum. 4. Set targets: Set clear goals for each call session. Track the duration of your calls, the number of goals you hit, and the number of connections you make. 5. Evaluate and adjust: After each session, review your performance and adjust your approach if needed. By following these steps and continuously refining your technique, you’ll be surprised by the improvement in your results.

Experts ask questions. 🙋♀️ Have you noticed that many experts aren't quick to answer? You ask a question and they ponder for a bit. 🤔 They may ask a clarifying question in return. Then give you room to speak. They answer with almost uncertainty and humility... But it's authentic. They admit if they don't know something. Instead, they say they'll figure it out and get back to you. They build your trust. Not by talking, but by listening. 👂 If your discos and demos don't look like this, you might be doing something wrong. 👀 The more questions you ask, the better you'll understand your prospect. The less you talk, the more you're prospect will speak. If you answer without knowing, the less trust you'll build. You know your product but you don't know your prospect. Take the time to build trust and get to know what they need. Then apply your product knowledge to that need. Remember, you're the expert. P.S. Does anybody else think Michael Scott was just secretly hiding his genius? haha #demos #discovery #experts

"Precision" doesn't really have a place in first-time cold call connects, does it? I mean, if you can't establish a 2-way dialogue in the first 7 to 12 seconds, what's the point of continuing the call? Not to mention, the average length of a cold call is only 68 seconds, so what is it that you believe you can get away with in 68 seconds? Now, I wouldn't go so far as to say "Precision" doesn't play a role in cold calling, well, not exactly... What I would say is that precision doesn't play a role in the "conversation." The conversation requires "Fuzziness," not "Precision." The "Precision" part is understanding how: 1. The length of the Cold Call (68 seconds) 2. Your opener 3. Follow-up All tie together "Precisely" through a "Fuzzy" delivery to generate more intros/meetings that convert to discovery, demos, revenue, and renewals. The most important part of this post is observing that the most critical part of any connect is: The first 7 to 12 seconds of the conversation. With success in mind, Shawn #TalkSoon P.S. Pro-Tips: #1 Stop obsessing about dial-to-connect metrics --- It's a loser! #2 Stop trying to be a first-round-knock-out-artist --- nobody is that guy! #3 Figure out how to maximize what you can get out of a 68-second cold call and use that to create a contrived follow-up process that's 12x easier to convert to a meeting! If you need help with #3 --- use my calendar at the top of my LinkedIn profile. ---I'll see you there.

How we increased our demo-to-close ratio by 200% with one simple change It all came down to listening. We thought we had our sales pitch down pat. Confident in our product, we'd launch into a well-rehearsed spiel during demos. But something wasn't clicking. Our close rates were good, but not great. Then it hit me: We were talking too much and listening too little. We flipped the script. Instead of telling prospects what we thought they needed, we started asking questions. Lots of them. We let them do 80% of the talking. The result? We uncovered pain points we never knew existed. Our demos became laser-focused on solving real problems. And our close rates? They skyrocketed. The lesson? Your prospects have all the answers. Your job is to ask the right questions. Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is shut up and listen. What's a counterintuitive lesson you've learned in your business journey? Let's learn from each other. #SalesStrategy #EntrepreneurialLessons #ListeningSkills

"How are you doing today?" "I'm great, thanks, and you?!" "I'm great too." This is called surface-level questioning and answering. Leading sales calls with these superficial questions and answers will only lead to a bunch of sales objections and, of course, never closing the sale. This usually ends with: - "I'll think about it and come back later." - "I'm not sure this is going to work for me." - "I have a lot on my plate at the moment, so I'll consider it later." If you want to go further, you need to change the way you ask questions, which will determine the type of answers you get. If you're not sure how to ask questions to get better answers, don't worry. I'm offering a FREE webinar where I'll talk about this and show you many examples. I've successfully cracked the code, so why not share it with you?! Just like or comment on this post, and I'll send you an invite link for the Zoom webinar. See you soon. Follow me Nick Graz #salescoaching #salesexpert #salesadvice

Here’s the process I use to GENERATE top-quality leads for my clients. > Volume: Success starts with numbers. You can't succeed if you're not reaching enough people. The more leads you generate, the more opportunities you have to convert them into paying customers. To do that, you need to consistently ramp up your efforts. That means more outreach, more content, more platforms, and more paid ads. The more you do, the more you'll see results. Do more. Reach more. Grow more. > Qualify: Not every lead is created equal. It's not just about quantity—it's about quality. You need to be selective and ensure that the leads you're attracting are actually a good fit for your product or service. Without a solid qualification process, you risk wasting time and resources on leads that won’t convert. So, how do you set up an effective qualification process? It's easier than you think. Ready to take your lead generation to the next level? BOOK A CALL here: https://lnkd.in/dRc9PAnA and let’s discuss how we can tailor this process to fit your business and start bringing in the leads that actually matter.
