🌍 About the AU-EU Innovation Agenda 🌍 I mentioned AU-EU Innovation Agenda several times here recently, mainly in connection to the session ECHAlliance - The Global Health Connector organises tomorrow at Africa Europe Science Collaboration Platform (AERAP) Forum in Brussels. But what is it all about? 🤔 💡 The AU-EU Innovation Agenda was announced in July last year but I guess not many of the innovation colleagues have heard about it and even if, are not fully familiar what this document consists. Promising the advancements and transformative partnerships between Africa and Europe in the domain of innovation and technology, this pretty compact document is quite concrete. Let me unpack some key elements: 💡AREAS: The agenda follows the identified gaps and needs in 5 areas: a) the innovation ecosystem b) innovation management, c) knowledge exchange, including technology transfer, d) access to finance, and e) human capacity development. 💡TOPICS: It focuses on four (or five) topics: Public Health, Green Transition, Capacities for Science and Innovation and Technology (and cross-cutting) 💡 ACTIONS: It lists a number of actions for the short-, medium- and long-term. 💡 PRINCIPLES: central to this agenda are principles of inclusivity, sustainability and collaboration. Both continents recognise the importance of engaging diverse stakeholders, including governments, businesses, academia, and civil society, to co-create innovative solutions. Ready to #ConnectTheDots?
