#LeadershipLessons from the Cricket Field: #MSDhoni's Masterclass in Passing the Baton. In the realm of cricket, few names resonate like MS Dhoni, a paragon not just for his skills but for his exemplary leadership. Recently, a significant moment unfolded at Chennai Super Kings as Dhoni passed the #captaincy baton to #RuturajGaikwad. This wasn't just a change of roles; it was a profound lesson in leadership and legacy. 1. Embracing Change Gracefully Dhoni's decision to step down as captain isn't about stepping away; it's about stepping up as a mentor. Leadership, as Dhoni demonstrates, is not about clinging to power but knowing when to empower others. His readiness to support and guide Gaikwad into his new role is a testament to his unselfish nature and deep commitment to the team's future. 2. Building a Lasting Legacy True leaders don't just create followers; they nurture future leaders. Dhoni's actions underline that a leader's real impact is felt through how they prepare their successors. By prioritizing the team’s longevity over his immediate personal achievements, Dhoni shows us that true leadership is future-oriented. 3. The Bigger Picture What makes a great leader? It's the ability to see beyond the immediate wins to what benefits the team in the long run. Dhoni’s transition strategy is not just a decision; it’s a strategic move—a masterclass in considering the bigger picture. As we witness this graceful #leadership transition at #CSK, it’s clear that the essence of leadership lies in preparing for the future. Dhoni's #foresight and #mentorship will undoubtedly bolster Gaikwad as he steps into these big shoes and continue to inspire many who aspire to lead. Managing Director at Man Structural Pvt. Ltd. | Past Chairman, CII Rajasthan | Past Chair, YPO Rajasthan
The recent change in captaincy at Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited, with MS Dhoni passing the baton to Ruturaj Gaikwad, is an excellent example of handling leadership changes well. Dhoni has shown that being a good leader isn’t just about winning games or being the star. It’s also about gracefully embracing change when it’s time for new leaders to step in. A leader’s legacy is not just in their achievements but in how they pave the way for successors. Dhoni’s willingness to support and mentor Gaikwad exemplifies the essence of a smooth handover. This move showcases the beauty of leadership transitions. It’s about looking beyond personal accomplishments to what benefits the team in the long run. Dhoni’s conduct through the change is a masterclass in leadership transition, showing us that great leaders always have the bigger picture in mind. Not many leaders can think unselfishly, and this move speaks volumes about what kind of a leader he is. It takes a good leader to win, but a great leader will care about maintaining a legacy long after they’re gone. #leadershiptransition #legacybuilding #teamsuccess

Leadership Lesson from last test India vs New Zealand- where Rishabh Pant’s leadership shone brighter than his impressive 99 runs. At a key point, Sarfaraz Khan had scored 150 crucial runs and . As Sarfaraz left the field, Pant waited for him to exit the crease first, allowing the young player to bask in the glory of his achievement. Even the New Zealand’s team paused to acknowledge this gesture, showing respect for Sarfaraz. This act is a powerful leadership lesson, not just in cricket but for the corporate world. Pant’s decision to step back demonstrates that true leadership is about elevating others. In business, effective leaders lead by example, fostering growth, collaboration, and respect. It’s about creating opportunities for others to shine, especially the next generation. Leaders who mentor young talent and give them space to succeed build lasting legacies. Like Pant, who recognized Sarfaraz’s moment, corporate leaders must empower their teams to take charge, make decisions, and grow. Pant’s example also highlights the power of small gestures in leadership. Whether it’s public praise, recognizing contributions, or stepping back for others, these acts build a strong, inclusive culture that fosters growth where your rivals also praise for your contribution. #leadership #futurism #motivation #productivity #socialnetworking Dr. Rajat AroraJaxay ShahAnurag AggarwalSUNIL MEHTAHarvard UniversityJo Clark 🙋♀️🤩💰Ola Nesheiwat HawatmehRobin Sharma

When it comes to leadership, there's a lot to learn from legends like Kapil Dev. Knowing Kapil Dev is more than just an honour -it is a reminder that true leaders lead by example, embrace challenges, and inspire others to push boundaries. Whether it's on the cricket field or in the corporate world, the qualities that make a great leader remain the same: resilience, commitment, and the courage to take calculated risks. 🏆 Just like how Kapil Dev led the Indian cricket team to its first World Cup victory in 1983 against all odds, I believe in setting bold goals and pursuing them relentlessly, no matter how insurmountable the obstacles might seem. Here’s to embracing challenges, being a team player, and striving for greatness in everything we do! What qualities do you think define a true leader? #Leadership #Inspiration #Cricket #KapilDev #PersonalBranding #CareerJourney #CareerAdvice #CareerGoals LinkedIn

Even 5-time champions can fail terribly, and MI in IPL 2024 is an example of that. But what really went wrong? While Hardik Pandya's talent is undeniable, perhaps the leadership transition could have been smoother. 🧐 Here are some key takeaways from this cricket saga: 1. Communication is king. ↳ Never make decisions without talking to the team. 2. Teamwork makes the dream work. ↳ Build synergy within the team, not distrust or mismanagement. 3. Deserving of the role. ↳ A leader should be someone who is accepted by the team. 4. Fit for the role. ↳ A leader should be someone who understands the strengths + weaknesses of the team. 5. Respect the legacy. ↳ Past leaders should be respected and learned from, not competed with and ignored. Case in point: CSK. My point is— Change is inevitable. Leaders come and go. However, managing the transition effectively is important. 💯 And these lessons apply not just on the cricket pitch, but in the corporate world as well. P.S. I have recorded a video on Managing your reputation as a leader in today's distracted world. ? Check in the comment ⬇ #communication #leadership #growth #cricket

Not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes, the greatest act of leadership comes from a simple gesture of genuine empathy. Recently, Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin received heartbreaking news during a crucial Test match. His mother's critical illness demanded his immediate attention. Captain Rohit Sharma's response went beyond granting permission for Ashwin's absence. His proactive empathy and unwavering support left a lasting impact. This incident highlights a powerful message: true leadership isn't just about delegating tasks; it's about recognizing and addressing the personal well-being of your team. Think about your own leadership style. Can you incorporate a more empathetic approach to foster a supportive work environment where your team thrives? #leadership #empathy #workplaceculture #cricket

"True #leadership is not about being in charge; it's about #empowering others to #lead." Explanation: As the CEO of the Divyang Cricket Control Board of India, I believe that effective leadership is defined by how well one can #inspire and #uplift others. Rather than focusing solely on one's own position or authority, a true #leader works to create opportunities for others to excel and take on leadership roles themselves. This approach not only fosters a more #inclusive and #collaborative environment but also ensures the collective #success of the #organization and its #mission.

Best knowledge of leadership comes from a man who has lead india and made them believe that we can win especially abroad. The best thing which I learnt from his leadership skills is that you will have different people with different skill set in your team. You cannot make all and follow a same patter thereby as a leader you must be aware of the skill set of your team and how to use it for the betterment of any project. salute to #souravgaguly
