Recently moved to Dubai and thought "Holy ****, is that want the rent prices are!!?" Arabian business have just published an article you may find useful, and as someone who has just been through the situation of moving, I can definitely vouch for a few places. Areas listed in the article: - Mirdif - JVC - International City - Discovery Gardens - Sports City - Town Square - Remraan - Arjan - Al Furjan If you're looking for a 1-2 bed apartments, all these areas have listed properties in the range of 70,000 - 120,000 AED per year. My top picks: - Town Square - an Emaar/Nshama district, good finishing on the apartments, plenty of shops, restaurants, family friendly, peaceful, well connected and nice greenery. I recently moved here, love the area. 2 bed 85k. - Al Furjan - I have a friend that lives here, really enjoy the vibe. Short drive from marina, family friendly area, not far from bars/restaurants and a mall. Plenty of villas for families. - Sports City - Good location, easily connected to Marina/Palm areas - the only downside on this area when i visited, was that it's still in need of development in some areas (near the canal). Around the golf course is nice, some buildings are quite dated though, new ones have recently gone up. Other areas worth a look that are affordable: - Studio City - Dubai South (quite far, but very affordable modern townhouses) - Production City Full article in the comments.
