The Next G Alliance just announced the publication of a new report on Spectrum Access Mechanisms (https://lnkd.in/eyVPkua2). The report, brought forth by the efforts of NGA's Spectrum Working Group, evaluates the range of spectrum management and access mechanisms to maximize North American opportunities for the 6G future. Focusing on promoting effective and efficient spectrum use, the report explores opportunities across unlicensed, shared, and exclusively licensed spectrum. ATIS’ Next G Alliance Spectrum Access Work Advances North American Opportunities in the 6G Future ATIS’ Next G Alliance (NGA) today announced publication of Spectrum Access Mechanisms, a new report evaluating the range of spectrum management and access mechanisms, including sharing regimes, to maximize North American opportunities for the 6G future. The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is seeking comments on the consultation of SRSP-506, issue 3 (draft), “Technical Requirements for Land Mobile and Fixed Radio Services, Including Broadband Systems, Operating in the Bands 896-901 MHz and 935-940 MHz”. SRSP-506 issue 3 sets forth the minimum technical requirements for the purpose of efficient spectrum utilization for land mobile and fixed point-to-point systems (narrowband systems), operating in the bands 896-901MHz and 935-940 MHz, as well as broadband systems in rural and remote areas in the bands 897.5-900.5 MHz and 936.5-939.5 MHz. The following are the main changes: a) Enabled broadband systems in rural and remote areas operating in the bands 897.5-900.5 MHz and 936.5-939.5 MHz. b) Incorporated technical rules and select requirements for equipment to facilitate the deployment of broadband systems. c) Updated the channel loading guidelines to align with document GL-04. d) Other editorial updates and improvements have been made throughout the document.
