Join us at noon on Mon. April 22, for the annual update on Arizona's bioscience sector: https://lnkd.in/g-XwZ45h. Every two years, the Flinn Foundation commissions a study of performance metrics for the biosciences in Arizona and shares the results with the community. The figures that will be released Monday are drawn from the last biennial dataset before Arizona’s Bioscience Roadmap is renewed in late 2025. Measuring and publicizing progress is a necessary condition for a collective- impact initiative like the Roadmap to succeed. The adaptive challenge of driving Arizona’s bioscience sector forward requires concrete data to inform the decision-making of hundreds of institutions and leaders that have committed to our shared agenda. The metrics derive their power in part from their consistency—dating to the Roadmap’s creation in 2002—and in part because we measure Arizona not only against its past self, but also against national benchmarks of competitiveness. Science is not for scientists only! 🧬 The #Know4Nano project officially kicked off on October 1st, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of this cutting-edge initiative! Coordinated by BioSense Institute and my colleague Vasa Radonic and funded by #HorizonEurope, Know4Nano brings together great minds from across Europe. 🚀 We were delighted to welcome our project partners to the BioSense Institute, including representatives from: Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2) 🇪🇸, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche 🇮🇹 and University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague (UCT Prague)🇨🇿. It was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate in person and define next steps. The project’s mission? To revolutionize the way we approach food safety by developing innovative biosensors that can detect foodborne pathogens at every stage of the farm-to-fork chain.
