Widowed at 29, this post and amplification of How to Have a Portfolio Career Monday 4th November 17:15 is too important to get lost in just a tag of me. It goes to the heart of why we are running these sessions; the portfolio career has given Ioana Cozarescu Kind a path from fear to freedom. Many of us are living with fears now, and I want people to imagine a life of freedom. Read Ioana's words plus the seven experts who will share with you their why, what they did, and how they did it, warts and all, so you can have that, too. Footnote to questions people are raising about safely attending: Two questions have come in on private channels and I wanted to make sure I answer in case anyone is facing this; thank you to those that spoke up because it is often an indication of the reality of the world in which we live! 1. Question: Can I access the Live Stream recorded or any other way because I really attend, I need this but don't want my workplace to know? 2. Question: LinkedIn has it in my Calendar for 5 minutes only, when I registered for the event, how do I access? 1. Answer Stealth access: The live stream will happen on Systematic-X and Dr. Chantelle Brandt Larsen DBA, MA, MCIPD🇸🇭🇦🇮🇬🇧🇨🇭♾️🌈🧠 so if you just go onto my profile at that time you can join. Also on @systematic_x on instagram if you feel unsafe in anyway to have visibility of registering for the event I completely understand. Side not you can also message me privately. 2. Answer Calendar invite is 5 minutes: The session is scheduled for 1 hour. It will be very real with all experts sharing the real deal as in the event outline, plus Q&A. If in any doubt head to my page Dr. Chantelle Brandt Larsen DBA, MA, MCIPD🇸🇭🇦🇮🇬🇧🇨🇭♾️🌈🧠 or Systematic-X , and it streams from there. Creating paths from fear to freedom ;)

Being widowed at 29 more than a decade ago, with two young kids, in the middle of just starting up my career in social work has posed one of the biggest challenges of my life. Especially if you have a multicultural background and no family to help you out effortlessly, being a single parent can massively impact your work prospects, no matter how high your education or motivation is. Especially in Switzerland 🇨🇭. With the rise of social media there is a huge opportunity for experts, who for various reasons can‘t be on site to build their personal brand online and find opportunities that would otherwise be inaccessible. So if you are in between jobs, either on your way to burnout or recovering and looking for new insights into how to find work collaborations, join us for a LinkedIn Live on the 4th November. I’ll be sharing especially around how to set up your LinkedIn profile (and what to start posting) for your next opportunity BEFORE it’s here. Thank you Dr. Chantelle Brandt Larsen DBA, MA, MCIPD🇸🇭🇦🇮🇬🇧🇨🇭♾️🌈🧠 for organising! #personalbranding #linkedin #singleparent #carework #socialmediatips

Celebrating 19 years on LinkedIn! 🎂 I still remember the day I got an email from Steve Cadigan, our newly hired Chief Human Resources Officer at PMC-Sierra, asking me to join his LinkedIn network. I deleted it, thinking it was spam or phishing. The next day, there was another email, so I decided to walk over to his office to check if it was legit. He confirmed it was and told me LinkedIn is a new professional platform that will change the way we work and connect. He wasn't kidding, and I am so glad I joined. Steve eventually became LinkedIn's first Chief HR Officer. Thank you, Steve, for your continued friendship, guidance, and mentorship, then and now! You continue to inspire me. Happy to share my professional journey over the past year: 📚 I started my "Leveraging AI for Small and Medium Business Growth" course at Kwantlen Polytechnic University! Thrilled for the journey ahead. 📈 My content received 55,252 views! Glad they sparked conversations. 🤝 I connected with 279 amazing and handpicked professionals, leading to exciting opportunities and insights. 🔍 My profile was viewed 2,202 times. 💡 I leveled up my profile with 25 new skills. 📊 My posts were viewed 33,438. #LinkedInTips #CareerAdvice #JobSearch Hey everyone! 👋 I’ve been noticing a trend on LinkedIn that’s got me thinking: why do so many folks include their previous companies in their headlines, specifically mentioning big names like “Ex-Amazon” or “Ex-Meta”? 🤔 Here are a few points to consider: Brand Recognition: Working at well-known companies can carry a certain prestige. It’s almost like a badge of honor! 🏅 Many professionals feel that showcasing their past affiliations can make their profiles stand out. Recruiter Appeal: Recruiters often search for candidates with experience in specific environments, especially those from FAANG companies (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, and Google). Including past employers can help catch their attention! 👀 Networking: Mentioning former employers can spark conversations, particularly among peers who’ve shared that experience. “Oh, you worked at Amazon too? Let’s talk!” 🤝 But is this trend exclusive to those who've worked at large corporatio... Why Do Job Seekers Use Old Company Names in LinkedIn Headlines? 🎉 Celebrating 20 years on LinkedIn! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 When I first joined LinkedIn in 2004, I had just transitioned from my consulting career at Deloitte to starting as a headhunter. At that time, using social media for professional networking was met with skepticism. Many doubted the utility of this new platform. However, LinkedIn was more than just another social media site—it was a game-changer. The platform’s innovative approach to connecting people through 1st and 2nd-degree connections transformed recruiting forever. It wasn't just about finding candidates; it was about understanding the network that each professional was part of. This interconnectedness—knowing that we are all just a few degrees away from each other—became a powerful asset in my recruitment strategy. LinkedIn has become an indispensable tool for professionals across industries. Indeed, it has changed the landscape of recruiting forever. LinkedIn's core principle—that we are all connected—resonates deeply with Sinek’s idea that success is driven by a clear sense of purpose. Over the past two decades, LinkedIn has stayed true to its mission of connecting the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful. This commitment to connection and growth is what has made LinkedIn an essential tool for millions of professionals globally. As I celebrate 20 years on LinkedIn, I look back and see that the platform has not only transformed my career but also the careers of countless others. Here’s to the power of connections, the value of community, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. Thank you, LinkedIn, for being integral to my professional journey. Here's to many more years of growth and connection! #LinkedInAnniversary #20YearsStrong #ProfessionalNetworking #SimonSinek #ConnectingTheWorld

LinkedIn was originally created to foster connections within the professional community, facilitating access to business opportunities, market insights, and professional development through various training programs. However, I’ve observed a shift in its usage towards self-promotion and the dissemination of unreliable information. This trend not only undermines the core values of professionalism, accountability, honesty, and respect, but also risks establishing a culture that prioritizes rhetoric (words) over tangible actions. Such a shift could have long-term negative implications, potentially setting a harmful precedent for future generations. I am interested in hearing your thoughts on this matter. How do you perceive the evolution of LinkedIn’s platform and its impact on professional culture and values? Have you ever heard about someone ( women and men) got access to a job through this platform? Let’s discuss and hear your experiences.
