👩🏾💻🫧| bombard your Social Media Team with information and let them decide which one goes out first and which ones stay in the brain dump folder! we will preach till the sun turns pink about this - Your Social Media Team/ Comms Coordinator isn't a full stop you add at the end of your strategy sessions - including them from the planning phases gives them context and insight. thumb sucking content is a bad idea 👎🏽 and honestly, a simple cc in an email will suffice for face value information. too often, we don't have the budget for big media but that doesn't mean we treat accessible media ( read social media) with little respect.

Combine Metrics That Tell a Stronger Story: Pair metrics like reach with social engagement and share of voice with sentiment to provide a more comprehensive view of imapct. 2. My alma mater JSA+Partners has an excellent comms newsletter–well worth a sub for anyone working in the media biz. Loved yesterday's piece on connecting earned, owned, and paid media across the strategy to create stronger results. Not included in the story, but it's worth pointing out where 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 fits in, especially with owned content playing a bigger role in the communications sandbox. Press is no longer the gatekeeper of information, and brands can get as much, if not more, visibility by building a community of advocates, loyalists, and partners that buy into and feverishly support a company’s mission. More often than not, that consumer noise turns into media interest down the line. Just as influence has shifted from institutions (legacy media) to individuals (new media), credibility is being established not just through cover stories in national news outlets, but also through public endorsement from recognized industry leaders and everyday fans. Finding the most value in owned and shared media means that communicators need to know the platforms and the algorithms as well as their marketing peers, and those that can successfully weave these channels into their strategies are poised to make a big impact at their organizations.
