What a year! Now it's time to "sharpen the saw"! 🎅🏽🎄. Covey's " 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" shares a powerful reminder that taking time to renew and refresh ourselves in different areas of life makes us more effective and productive.💪 Imagine trying to cut down a tree with a blunt saw – no matter how hard you work, it will be a slow and frustrating task. However, if you take the time to "sharpen the saw", the job becomes much easier and quicker. The same principle applies to our lives: neglecting self-care leads to burnout and inefficiency, while regular renewal in key areas can enhance performance.📈 Covey suggests focusing on four areas for renewal: 1. Physical - Engage in regular exercise, travel, eat good food and try to ensure adequate rest. 🏋️🥘😴🛫 2. Mental - Read, write, journal, or learn new things to stimulate the mind. 📚📝🧠 3. Social/Emotional - Get closer to the ones you love, this could be friends and family.🤝💬❤️ 4. Spiritual - Whether its faith, nature or connecting with loved ones, take time to create some inner peace. 🧘♂️🌳 Hopefully, you can join me in practicing these things during the holidays.🎅🏽🎄 Wishing you a #MerryChristmas and a #HappyNewYear! 🎄🎉
Love this reminder Justice Onwuka. Taking a break over the next couple of weeks is the ideal time to put all 4 into practice. Post some photos!
Absolutely spot on Justice Onwuka. Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas too. You’ve been a superstar this year so enjoy a well deserved break.
Merry Christmas to you too my friend!
All such great and important tips! Our favorite is movement and breathing-based microbreaks, they build on the physical, mental, social, and spiritual (engaging with virtual nature)!
