Experts now turn to AI instead of juniors and interns. Who cares that we're not teaching juniors to become seniors? We're going 10x faster! We're optimizing the value stream! More value and faster feedback = better. Right? 🤦🏻 #AI
That is a very short term thinking. Just like raising kids. The parents have to let the kids learn how to tie their shoe laces and all the other skills that they'll need in their adult lives. Sure the parents can do it faster and better, but the kids would never learn. Part of parenting is to know when to let the kids learn what, what to let them fail and have the patience to let them fail so they can learn in a safe environment.
Somewhere in 2040... You're tired of junior hirees not being up to the task, but your experts are retiring soon? Don't worry, just order the new Xperienced brain chip: it takes only two hours to download all your experts experience and knowledge! You can then safely upload the previous data in all your Grok Optimus robots, and tell your junior employee to go home, cause they re not needed anymore. Are we at the first step of this process? Makes me wonder!
Companies have been cutting novices and graduates out of the action for 25 years since they outsourced all the junior jobs to low-wage countries. The result is a lot of high-cost, low-quality development work and a major shortage of skilled seniors.
There are underlying situations and motivations in the decision-making process that AI does not yet seem to take into account. Humans are not 100% pragmatic and emotions significantly influence our decisions. The perception of these nuances is still the result of experience among young and more experienced professionals. The future will tell us how AI will evolve.
Which one is higher: - The ability of junior to learn by themselves thanks to AI? - The decreased learning due to juniors not being engaged by seniors?

3dI was talking about this yesterday. If Jr leaders aren't invited to discussions how do they can improve themselfs to make good decisions?
