Good news at the closing of #capacityeurope2024 for Angola Cables 🚀 The launch of our new European subsidiary named TelCables Europe marks a major step in expanding connectivity across Europe and beyond. This new point of presence (PoP) of Angola Cables at Start Campus data center is a natural step to create value to our Global Data Center Interconnection that will play a crucial role in strengthening our Atlantic digital infrastructure, creating new opportunities for global network growth, and enhancing intercontinental traffic exchange. Invisible infrastructure that drives the digital world: submarine cables Submarine cables are key pillars for the digital economy, global connectivity and national security, yet they face regulatory challenges that make their deployment expensive and delay their deployment. Recent developments in Europe show the potential to strengthen global competitiveness and ensure a resilient and future-proof digital ecosystem. More than 99% of the world´s communications, from simple phone calls to complex international financial transactions, are carried by submarine cables. Stretching millions of kilometres under the ocean, these systems are the backbone of our digital economy. Without them, we would not be able to enjoy services such as streaming movies, cloud computing or global e-commerce. I fully support the Ghana government's approval of this 5G migration approach particularly with Nokia 's participation because when it comes to Network Slicing, Nokia was the first in Africa to introduce Network Slicing technology capabilities over both 4GLTE and 5G in Kenya with Safaricom PLC somewhere in 2022 and that is why to increase local content participation, I'm coming up with a joint-venture approach at the Network Edge in offering the value of combining 4GLTE, 5G and Starlink solutions for enterprise customers in all sectors of Ghana's economy with my local partner and US government backed technology partners to help all stakeholders including Telecel Ghana and AT Ghana and the Ghana government itself benefit from the wholesale 4GLTE/5G Network as well as LEO satellite Internet like SpaceX's Starlink but I'm surprised only Telecel Ghana and AT Ghana are subscribing to the JV and mention was not made of MTN Ghana. It is understandable for both Telecel Ghana and AT Ghana to participate in the JV with the Ghana government and the Indian partners because AT Ghana has been denied 4GLTE technology for long even at a time all Telcos in Ghana were complaining of unprofitability in late 2015 when MTN Ghana won a 4GLTE license in a no-contest auction. The question is, which of the 5G spectrum bands has been awarded the Next Generation Infrastructure Company (NGIC) ? is it in the low band, mid band or high band where Low Earth Orbit satellite players operate along? What becomes of MTN Ghana ? Very much focused with all my technology partners at the Network Edge in achieving the value of combining 4GLTE, 5G and Starlink solutions with Zero-Trust Cyber Security Architecture whilst protecting Ghanaian ownership at the Network Edge of the Telecom value chain. Now if Microsoft is involved in Ghana's 4GLTE/5G wholesale Network, does that mean that a new Cloud-based 5G Core Network with Nokia is part of the deal and not just the 5G spectrum approval by Ghana's cabinet for Radio Access Network? We need to collectively redefine mobile FWA(4GLTE/5G) as the most competitive, affordable and robust broadband Technologies to deliver voice, data and video services all-in-one for struggling healthcare facilities and businesses across all parts of Ghana struggling to pay for exorbitant Dedicated Internet charges as either primary or failover. This is because mobile FWA(4GLTE/5G) technologies are a cost-effective way to deliver FWA solutions and a key candidate to solving rural and urban broadband challenges in Ghana. Whilst mobile FWA strategies in America are driven by the US government spending in billions of dollars and Covid-19 pandemic , it is going to be driven in Ghana and Africa by lack of affordable broadband options and competition among profitable Telcos like MTN and struggling Telcos like others in Ghana where Ghana’s National Communications Authority has introduced Technology neutrality and a wholesale 4GLTE/5G Network to level the playing field.

The fibre-optic network capacity available to customers extends over 42,000 kilometres and is continuously being expanded. In addition, Gas LINE has concluded a number of cooperation agreements to integrate network capacities across national borders. At the Capacity event in London, our customer ZAYO announced the signing of an agreement with GasLINE for a ring network of around 3,000 kilometres. In addition, the company will use direct cross-border connections to London, Marseille, Amsterdam and Dublin to create connectivity between several data centres. Zayo is looking to provide its customers with low-latency routes. The route from Frankfurt/M. to Berlin is an integrated ‘short-cut’.
