Throwback to one of my favorite quote designs from my class archives! Even though it's from a while ago, its message still resonates. Reflecting on the journey and am excited to revisit this piece. #ThrowbackDesign #QuoteDesign #GraphicDesign #DesignJourney #TimelessMessage

Part of my artistic practice is to write short meditations on the artwork I make. Here's a recent piece I wrote on my substack, exploring the ways we use words. https://lnkd.in/g53nGgBX

Can creativity be learned? The answer is absolutely yes, contrary to popular belief. If you compare the first album of a singer or an author's first book with their recent ones, you can unmistakably say the recent ones have more refined and creative elements. By continuously practicing and constantly consuming quality literature and art, you can hone your creativity and express yourself ingeniously. Witnessing art evokes emotion in the human heart. For example, Starry Nights by Van Gogh has a hold on whoever looks at the art. Even those who do not consume art normally can feel a sense of melancholy from the painting. In the same way, consuming fiction broadens the horizons of the human mind and thus unlocks new doors to creativity. Complicated plots and complex narratives put the brain in detective mode to search for answers and hidden meanings in words. Reading history is a rather unknown but effective way to widen the horizons of one’s creativity since it’s necessary to learn the past to create a new future. You can check out the book“ "Creativity: Flow and the Psychology of Discovery and Invention” from the library of BOOKS4LENDING. So, make reading and consuming art a solid part of your life and routine. #books4lending #historybooks #creativityinwork #creativity #bookstoread #creativethinking #employeecreativity

How, and why, did I go from one creative discipline to multi-stranded practice and what do I bring from one to the other? As I rehearse my talk for City Lit Arts, I discover new lines of connection in knowledge, skills and thinking.
