When I first graduated and started my career in Statistics, I often felt restricted by my job options. I wanted growth beyond programming and analytical skills. I wanted relationships and interactions beyond RStudio, Python, a few emails, and whatever my current monitor setup looked like. I wanted a work environment that I felt passionate about. That's when I found Trove Brands. You may know them through their popular consumer brands—including Owala and Blender Bottle—but I know them by the amazing experiences that I’ve had since being here as a Strategic Planning Analyst. At Trove, I'm not just honing my technical skills in predictive analytics and data integration but thriving in strategic planning and business development. Of course, I also have a closet full of water bottles. Being a Strategic Analyst at Trove Brands is far more rewarding than I ever imagined. If you're looking for a job that offers diverse growth opportunities (ESPECIALLY for my friends in Analytics), I highly recommend checking out Trove Brands! Take a look at their career opportunities here: https://lnkd.in/gayjA7zG #CareerGrowth #Analytics #BusinessStrategy #TroveBrands #DreamJob

I finally discovered the meaning behind a new term that companies started using on job vacancies, and associated with H&S roles: Business Partner. Apparently, it is used to differentiate the role approach from old-school style "H&S police" to a "new", more friendly and supportive approach to colleagues. I find it peculiar: I understand the rationale, and totally support that workplaces are evolving in this direction, but was it necessary to create new terminology in a field already over-complicated in terms of roles (Manager, Lead, Head, Advisor, Adviser, Coordinatoor, Analyst, etc. etc.)?

A Survival Guide for Married Men with No Kids: What to Do While Your Parnter is Gone for an Entire Week As a married man whose wife is away for a full week, the possibilities are endless! After the excitement of having the remote to yourself & not having to consider what to eat wears off, and the crushing absence starts to settle in... here are five things I'm TOTALLY going to try: 🛋️ Rearrange the Furniture – Channel your inner HGTV star. By the time she gets back, the couch might have seen every wall in the living room (and probably back to its original spot). Feng Shui, yes way! 🥣 Perfect the Art of the Gourmet Cereal Bowl – Breakfast? Lunch? Dinner? Why limit yourself to one at a time? Mix Kellogg Company Frosted Flakes with Lucky Charms for a Michelin-worthy experience. 🗑️ Finally Tackle the Mysterious Drawer – You know the one. It’s full of spare keys, takeout menus, and... is that a Microsoft Zune? You’ve got a whole week to solve this puzzle. 👨💼 Practice Screenings with Your Pets– Without human company, one of our five cats (I agree, that's too many cats) can be the perfect conversational partner. Plus, they never interrupt—what a win! Although they do tend to struggle with behavioral questions... 🧺 Attempt to Do Laundry – I’m told there’s a magic formula to folding a fitted sheet, but after five attempts, it just looks like I’m wrestling a jellyfish. All of this while trying to find qualified candidates for the Senior Data Science role with the NGA. Wish me luck—let’s hope I can balance feline conversations, gourmet cereal, and Boolean search strings like a pro! 😅 And if your interested in killing some of this week's time with me, apply below and let's get you on the team! #MarriedLife #DataScienceHustle #NGA #JobSearch #NowHiring #Hiring #JobOpening #Careers

I love recruiters but many do not answer. Answers from them are nice but honestly fish don’t just jump in the boat. People don’t need to be as patient as some imply. - Look at the profiles of people replying “Interested” or “Applied” on hiring posts. Make your profile better. - Look at what the next level in employment is and work towards matching your resume to this. Want to be a Junior Business Analyst? Look for the requirements of a Senior Business Analyst and work towards this. There is more but I’m tired of the lack of empowerment some messages on LinkedIn give. People have more control over their own destiny. Go out and get after it. Stay motivated, stay humble, stay respectful, stay grateful and keep hammering.

Reapplying to a company I worked for nine years ago feels strange, like stepping into a time warp. Back then, it seemed like a lifetime ago. I was in a different role, one focused on management rather than the analytics positions I now find myself more suited for. It makes me wonder—has my career evolved because of the skills I’ve honed recently, or was I just limited by the opportunities available at the time? Over the years, I’ve shifted my focus towards analytics, gaining valuable experience in data-driven decision-making. This shift feels more in line with my current strengths and interests. Yet, I can’t help but reflect on whether the company had only offered those analyst roles back then because they fit my experience at the time or if I’ve simply grown into this niche. Revisiting the same company, this time in a different capacity, makes me realize how much I’ve changed professionally. It’s an exciting, albeit strange, opportunity to see how I might fit into an organization that feels both familiar and new. Photo from June 2003 when I first began at this company.
