Securities regulator ESMA has confirmed it is considering a clarification to its fund naming rules after market participants have raised concerns about the potential impact on green bond investments. Policy officer Patrik Karlsson told me that green bonds are “certainly one of the areas that we’re looking at and we are considering whether we may need to issue a clarification on this topic”. However, he did push back on some criticism, asking whether sustainable or green-labelled funds should be investing in transitioning issuers without using the transition label. https://lnkd.in/eAagNQkR

JUPITER GREEN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC's board is right to review options for the trust's future. JGC is sub scale and relative performance has been poor. One solution might be a rollover into Impax Environmental Markets plc. This would still tick the box of holding companies designed to make a positive impact, while providing the benefits of scale and retaining strong recovery potential. https://lnkd.in/ejKH8efh #QuotedData #QD #JupiterGreen #JGC #ImpaxEnvironmentalMarkets #IEM #news #newstoday #investments

Delighted to share this guide on key US state-level #ESG developments that financial institutions, including #privatecapital providers, need to be aware of. Importantly, firms need to be aware of not just ESG backlash but also the "backlash to the backlash", as states continue gearing up to advance their views on either side. ESG is still in its teenage years, which means regulatory fragmentation is set to continue. And a good understanding of the landscape is key to navigating through it strategically and successfully.
