I'm thankful to the Product-Led Alliance for inviting me to participate in a panel discussion on a topic close to my heart - Leveraging analytics to drive Product success.
The event exceeded my expectations! I was able to connect with and learn from fellow Product Operations leaders and share insights from my work at Collibra, the birthplace of Data Intelligence.
Key themes from our discussions:
👤 Identity: Defining Product Operations
Product Operations (POPS) tends to fill the most apparent gaps in their organizations, which is natural but risky. It's essential to clearly define and align the mission of the POPS team with others.
🔀 Process: Balancing Principles and Procedures
Inspired by Hugo Froes's idea of "Principle over Process," I see a parallel to James Clear's habit framework: Outcomes are straightforward but fleeting, Processes are challenging but fragile, Identity is the most difficult yet enduring. Process shouldn't compensate for a lack of clear identity or principles.
📊 Measurement: Assessing Success
While tracking adherence to principles, processes, and tools is valuable, the most meaningful metrics align with Product Outcomes. Though harder to measure, being honest, intentional, and upfront about these metrics is the best path to success.
Looking forward to future interations!
