I would never imagine that hosting the Shell Philippines Service Milestone Awards would also turn out to be an incredible learning and inspiring experience! As I approach my own third "Shell Anniversary" later this week, I took away three important reflection points from our award recipients that I'd like to share: 1. "Remember who you do it for," (25-year awardee). It's a good reminder, especially in challenging and competitive environments, that we often work for a purpose beyond ourselves - and for Filipinos, it will mostly be centered around our families. I love this, as there's a certain level of satisfaction knowing we do our best for our loved ones. 2. "Respect and be true to your word," (25-year awardee). In industries where trust is everything between colleagues, clients, and customers, we must always be prepared to commit to our word. This protects (and emphasizes) the reputation we want to build for ourselves and our workplace. 3. "Leave something for yourself," (30-year awardee). In the desire to be excellent, we can easily fall into the trap of giving 100% to our work, but 0% for ourselves. Hard work should be balanced with hard play, to recharge well and go the distance in our careers (figuratively speaking). What 👏🏼 a 👏🏼 Monday 👏🏼 It was an honour to hear these words of wisdom from company veterans first-hand. It was also a privilege to have our Country Chair (and recognized as one of Fortune 's 100 Most Powerful Women in Asia), Lorelie Quiambao Osial, share anecdotes about the awardees and her own insights around what it takes for organizations to keep their people inspired. #MondayMotivation #leadership #reflection 📌 My thoughts are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of my company and other affiliated institutions.
