If you have the skilset and resources, you should always build your own toolkit. I'm not against using other services. But doing so puts you in the same race as everyone doing so. This means your edge becomes largely blunted, in alignment with the people that you're running against. If you use a content creation tool, your content will be a reiteration of others. If you use a writing tool, your writing will be a regurgitation of others. And while it may help you short term, it will make you generic in the long term. It's easy to copy others when you have the recipe. But one thing that's very difficult to copy, is your lived experience, and the moat you build. I try to make as many tools as possible my own in some way. Customisation is the best.
Completely agree! Building your own toolkit ensures unique, tailored solutions that set you apart from the competition. Your experience is your ultimate edge!
Great point about originality JP Garbaccio How do you balance using tools with maintaining a unique voice in your content?

5moSkilset and - resources and time to burn. We developed our own CMS for in-house use. Directly, a lot of resources were wasted. Indirectly, we almost mastered technical SEO. I say "almost" because, in my opinion, you can never know everything. So, when it comes to technical SEO, building this tool essentially paid for our SEO experience, making the tool itself cost nothing.
