Mistakes happen. ✅ Today, a younger colleague from my team came to me, worried about a mistake with an invoice. She forgot to account for an additional cost. 🧾 Here’s what I appreciated: - She shared the mistake immediately 💬 - She proposed a solution 💡 - She shared the issue with the team to prevent it from happening again 🔄 - She understood the seriousness of the situation ⚠️ When you make a mistake, here’s what to do: - Acknowledge it quickly ✔️ - Communicate openly with your team/boss 🗣️ - Propose a solution or ask for help 🤝 - Share with the team to avoid the same mistake in the future 📚 - Recognize the impact and take it seriously ⚡ Mistakes are part of the process. How we handle them is what matters.
For young colleagues, it is "easier" to adopt this approach when the work environment is team-oriented, supportive, and fosters open communication, for which we are deeply grateful. ☺️ ☺️
If we work, we make mistakes. Mistakes are an important part of the learning process. Owning to your mistakes is an integral part of personal growth!
