BOLD predictions for 2025: 👉Python continues to be better than R. 👉Dark mode continues to be overrated. 👉JavaScript continues to be a hideous language. 👉People will continue to refer to "X" as "Formerly Twitter". 👉Excel will still be the dominant database. 👉Your dashboards and AI product will continue to be exported to spreadsheets. 👉Jeff McDonald will not get me an espresso machine despite all the gift cards I've sent him via text messages. You will pay taxes. #satire

JavaScript is a great language made hideous. I really enjoy working with vanilla js. It’s a shame the reputation it has gotten from these “frameworks”. It and python are two languages that give me that feeling of damn I just made something really cool and made it super simple.

None of the words in your list were bolded and that feels like a big miss for a professional smartass.

Software Engineers will realise that their role has fundamentally changed when they integrate AI at every step. There is no magic 'do my work button', but carefully breaking down the tasks and delegating the right tasks in the right way to the NTOTB (new tools on the block) is transformational in terms of capacity to build more new and useeful customers features faster, to better levels of quality.
