Each pick in the #MLBDraft has an expected WAR value. Each team selects a player with the intention of becoming a major leaguer. Only three MLB teams have produced players that have outperformed their expected WAR by their respective draft pick: (Think of it this way: The No.1 overall pick is expected to accumulate 7 bWAR, The Astros have accumulated 20.1 bWAR by drafting and developing players, therefore, the Astros have a net 13.1 WAR over expected. Saturday soliloquy: The World Series – yet another American self-designated world championship that lacks participation by other countries. Be that as it may, it is nonetheless a contest of will and strategy as much as athletic ability. The New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers, the two most iconic teams and recognizable brands in baseball, are meeting for the 12th time in the 120 years of the contest. The Yankees lead this rivalry, 8-3.  Although the Dodgers are considered to be a successful organization, they are 7-14 in World Series play.  The more successful Yankees are 27-13, with more than double the wins of any other team. Each tally is a study of how you celebrate the small wins along the way, such as the Dodgers winning 21 National League titles, and the quest to achieve ultimate success for which the Yankees are unmatched in professional sports. Great champions are made by great opponents, and great rivalries spark greater desire to do more.  Leaders know that you don’t get to the championship game without assembling talent, training and motivating them, and making the right decisions when it’s all on the line. They have met in the World Series more than any other two teams (Giants-Yankees match-ups are second). The Dodgers departure from Brooklyn to Los Angeles in 1957 is perhaps the most famous sports team relocation in history. But many do not realize that Dodgers owner Walter O'Malley convinced New York (baseball) Giants owner Horace Stoneham to move to San Francisco that same year. The presence of two Giants teams in New York is behind the inclusion of "Football" in the name of the current New York Giants.
