Today I received a rude email from someone who decided TMM wasn't for them. Which is fine. We ain't here to trap anyone 😊 But their tone made my day worse. So I decided to message three people I admire to let them know how they've improved my life. Because bugger it. There is enough bad stuff in the world. I wanna do my bit to make other people's days better. In the process - my day got better too. Funny how positivity breeds positivity 😊
Out of all the emails, newsletters, and messages that flood my inbox every day, your communications, stand out as the best, by a mile and then some! They’re witty, positive, and packed with so much energy that they instantly put a spring in my step and a smile on my face. Honestly, just reading the salutations makes my day brighter—every time! I've been meaning to write back to you, but, well... life happens, and things get pushed aside. But I just had to let you know how much I appreciate your magic! Keep them coming and keep doing what you're doing—it's pure gold!
This is lovely, such a positive reframe and stops their negativity ruining your day. We can't control how other people behave but we can control our response and not add to the negativity. I had similar with an ex-client recently and I was all ready to give them what for, but decided that would only be a negative for me, so instead I sent them my very best wishes and got on with my day. Great reminder, Joe Glover 💫
Build it and they will come...so they say. Keep up the good work Joe Glover decent folk attract decent folk...I'm sure the author of said email will find their tribe...but your tribe simply isn't their tribe...be gone human, and have a good day 😀
That’s a bloody great idea. I’d love to spend the day in your mind.
I, for one, Joe Glover found it super interesting (thanks again Nick Crawford and Gary Gumbleton). I find it’s so easy to get wrapped up in one’s own marketing channel that it can be hard to stop! Take a breath! To consider all those other wonderful marketing and creative threads - and appreciate how they can weave in to one’s own world. I think The Marketing Meetup achieved that for me! Thanks TMM!
Your post made my day better, so thank you. I would love to know more about the Marketing Meet-up Community, and how one can get involved :)
You’re doing amazing work. There will always be people, who won’t appreciate it. My 6yo son came up with a brilliant reply to any rude comments. He tells people “no, thank you”. Works wonders.
I'm sure I'm not the only person who thinks that the overwhelming impression you leave is one of kindness and a genuine desire to help people. I guess everyone has their own problems to deal with but why take it out on others? Some people really need to have a word with themselves.
Hope it wasn’t my potty mouth in Milton Keynes bud
