Every summer, we have all carried around extra bottles of drinking water to hand over to postmen and traffic cops in case we see them on the roads. Think at the very least, we all need to do the same for our fellow countrymen doing deliveries too. While I am sure ecomm, food delivery and quick commerce companies are doing their bit for their delivery folks, I cant help but fear that a mental-emotional-psychological-physical stress bubble is waiting to burst. #DeliveryHeroes #EComm #QuickCommerce #FoodDelivery

In the world of speedy delivery and online-everything, "Easy" just keeps getting Easier. Just when you think it couldn't get any easier, it does. I don't know about you, but these days when I have to wait 24 hours for the delivery of my online order (of anything!), I'm left wondering why there's such a delay. Because rapid on-demand delivery is now the norm. Over the last 20 years, e-commerce has transformed my life and, I suspect, yours. More choice, convenience, and personalisation. And now more speed. I was surprised to read the outcome of some research we did with JustEat recently to explore the shifts in the world of rapid delivery. It's not (just) food anymore. Oh no. The food was just for starters. There's plenty more where that came from - just you wait and see. Check this out: ➡️ https://ow.ly/28Yw50SOZG0

Food shopping - do you enjoy it? Do you do it online and get it delivered, do you click and click collect or like me do you still wander round the shops? Are you a list person? Do you stick to the list or grab little extra bits if you see them? Do you go with your others or prefer to shop by yourself? Do you like to go shopping when it’s quiet or do you love the buzz of a busy supermarket? Do you have a plan when going in to the shop or do you just wander slightly aimlessly? Do you use the self scan or do you like to go through the till and chat with the cashier? Do you do a big shop or lots of little shops? Do you have a certain day you go on or do you mix it up? So many different ways to food shop. How do you do it? It’s that kind of Saturday people. Hope you’re all having a good one. Convenience is not simply a trend, it’s a societal shift fuelled by a generation accustomed to instant gratification. The on-demand delivery industry is showing no signs of slowing down, with the grocery-only market predicted to be worth $16.5bn by 2029. The grocery sector is one rich in choice; customers can pick between a weekly shop, a takeaway meal kit, on-demand groceries or a trip to the local shop. People are willing to pay a premium for convenient food delivery - but what is that tipping point? Received some interesting comments on a previous post about trends which made me think of this issue. Think of the monopoly of logistics, the last mile. How can delivery costs be reduced so that I can get my favorite cheeseburger and pay the restaurant price, without all of those added fees? I think that is probably one of the next evolutions in the marketplace, where the business model of delivery will continue to get disrupted and there will be a pooling of these kinds of services. As Datassential says: 50% of consumers cite food delivery as being too expensive, and nearly 40% of shoppers cancel their transactions after viewing the final price.” Would love to hear what you think.
