London Market Group's Data Council has launched a consultation on the proposed extension of the Core Data Record (CDR) to cover Treaty business. Running for eight weeks from 22 October, this consultation is a significant step in the market’s digitalisation journey. Market participants can access the consultation via the LMG website, with briefing sessions to be organised by the LMA, International Underwriting Association of London (IUA) and LIIBA - London & International Insurance Brokers’ Association. The CDR, aligned with ACORD’s Global Reinsurance and Large Commercial (GRLC) standard, is designed to drive greater interoperability of systems between London and other global markets. Firms are encouraged to embed this standard in preparation for 2025 and beyond. Sheila Cameron, Chair of the Data Council and CEO of the LMA, emphasised the importance of this project and urged Treaty market participants to actively contribute their feedback. Hot off the press - The Lockton Transactional Risks Real Estate Team's H1 2024 update. By way of a quick summary: We’ve received a significant increase in enquiries from H2 last year, particularly in the SME space (with a few notable outliers). We continue to see a relatively even spread of deals across different asset classes although more recently we have seen an uptick in hotel acquisitions. The soft insurance market of 2023 has continued with insurers demonstrating plenty of appetite for real estate transactions. Whilst rates have remained stable, insurers are offering increasingly flexible terms, with a more pragmatic approach to exclusions and generous pricing for enhancements. Although deal timetables are more protracted than previous years, the increased activity gives us plenty of reasons to have an optimistic outlook for the rest of the year. #wandiinsurance #insurance #realestate #corporaterealestate

HDI Global SE’s alternative risk transfer (ART) specialist unit HDI Enablers is expanding its focus, including opening up new markets, with the appointment of Eric Joly-Pottuz (pictured) as its new head. “Our core business is in Europe, but at the same time, we're also open to expanding our business beyond. Potential markets such as the US and Asia are of interest to us. Malaysia, for example, is currently becoming a big domicile for captives. We are in contact with our connections there to determine whether or not there's an opportunity for us to go further,” said Joly-Pottuz, who is taking over the management of the Paris-based dedicated unit from Etienne de Varax, who will retire at the end of the year.
