Critical thinking is essential when it comes to unpacking the pain that makes forgiveness elusive. Two distinctions that are often linked are -the decision to forgive -and the experience of emotional forgiveness. More than 436,000 cardiac arrest deaths occur each year in the U.S. Student athlete Matthew Mangine had a sudden cardiac arrest during soccer conditioning. EMTs and hospital staff weren't able to save him. Now his parents are on a mission to save other young athletes from sudden cardiac arrest, raising awareness about AEDs and what to do in a cardiac emergency. Youtube Video: https://lnkd.in/gtqdH8QY Cardiac arrest is the abrupt loss of heart function in a person who may or may not have been diagnosed with heart disease. It can come on suddenly or in the wake of other symptoms. Cardiac arrest is often fatal if appropriate steps aren’t taken immediately. This video truly touched me, as my son plays youth soccer. While you never want to think that something this unimaginable can happen, the reality is that it absolutely can. It got me thinking about my son's current soccer practice sites and whether they have CPR-trained individuals and AEDs nearby. I'm looking into this currently.
