I was thrilled to attend the MnSearch - Digital Marketing Networking Summit last week. For those of you who don’t know, MnSearch is Minnesota’s premier search and digital marketing network. We attended talks about AI, ABM, and CRO — oh my. Here are some of our top takeaways. ➡️ John Kocon learned a lot from Aleyda Solís in her talk, “The Impact of AI in SEO: How is it Going and What to Expect Next.” As you may have seen, Google unveiled — then walked back — its new AI overview in SERPs. This glimpse will allow us to better prepare and position ourselves for success in the future ➡️ Steve Sworsky learned that “content is for community, not a commodity” from Wil Reynolds’ talk, “How to Maintain Your Job Relevance in an AI World.” People are seeking out human interaction, like on LinkedIn and Reddit, more and more than ever before, which can — and should — guide our content. ➡️ Finally, I was reminded of a couple important lessons from Abby Gleason in her talk “CRO for SEOs: Optimizing for Conversions in an Era of Declining Traffic.” Always conduct testing before and after any sort of change to your site, and be confident in the story and narrative of what you see, not just the data. Did you attend MnSearch? What was your favorite session? Share takeaways below! #MnSearch #MnSearchSummit #ContinuousImprovement

Hey there, fellow digital marketers! Let's talk about the unsung heroes of our world — UTM parameters. (there's a reson why I am talking about this now, read till the end to find out!) These little additions pack a serious punch when it comes to tracking and analyzing our marketing efforts. 👉 First things first, what are Dynamic UTMs? At their core, UTMs (Urchin Tracking Modules) are simple yet powerful additions to a URL that allow marketers to track the source, medium, campaign name, and other attributes of their marketing efforts. This granular level of insight is invaluable as we strive to understand the complex user journeys and attribution paths that lead to conversions. 👉 Now, why are these UTMs highly essential in the age of AI? Well, as AI continues to revolutionize the way we market, we need all the data we can get our hands on. UTMs give us a golden ticket to take a peek into the mysteries of user behavior, allowing us to make data-driven decisions and stay ahead of the curve. But wait, there's more! With UTMs, you can see which channels are driving the most engagement and which ones need a little more attention. And I guess, this is the very reason why LinkedIn has decided to launch dynamic UTMs for campaign tracking by the end of March. Pretty cool, right? So, there you have it, folks. UTMs are the unsung heroes of the digital marketing world, and we'd be lost without them. Do you too think UTMs are extremely important for us, marketers? Comment your thoughts below! #DigitalMarketing #UTMParameters #DataDrivenMarketing #ContentTracking #MarketingAnalytics #LinkedIn #SEO #Marketers

In the age of information overflow, your business’s visibility can often feel like finding a needle in a haystack, particularly in the vast expanse of internet searches. Traditional tactics often don’t cut it anymore. The tried and tested method of focusing SEO strategies solely on Google, for instance, may now be akin to putting all your eggs in one basket. Today, the search landscape is evolving rapidly - thanks to AI. Smaller search engines like DuckDuckGo and Bing are gaining significance, as well as vertical search engines that offer specialized results in sectors such as medicine, legal, and e-commerce. Failing to leverage these platforms might be a big missed opportunity for your business. Even more transforming is the rise of Conversational AI and Voice AI technology - marking a shift in the way users are interacting with searches. Is your content optimized for conversational queries or voice search? Are you potentially missing out on higher user engagement due to a lack of Strategy alignment? Navigating these developments effectively can be quite a challenge, but therein lies a golden opportunity to connect with your audience like never before. The question that stands - is your business primed to take advantage? As a digital marketing professional, I can help uncover gaps in your strategy and tailor a forward-looking plan that captures these AI trends and beyond. Google's Search Generative Experience (SGE) is a new feature in Google's search engine that uses artificial intelligence to provide direct answers to user queries at the top of search results. This change is significant for marketers as it can impact website traffic by potentially reducing the number of clicks to external sites. As a digital marketing expert, I believe it's crucial for us to understand SGE, its implications on search behavior today, and how to adapt our strategies effectively. SGE presents both challenges and opportunities. The direct answering model means users might find what they're looking for directly in search results, bypassing traditional clicks to websites. This requires us to rethink our approach to SEO and content creation. Here are actionable steps for marketers to prepare for SGE: Enhance Content Quality: Produce high-quality, authoritative content that directly answers user questions. Google's AI tends to prioritize comprehensive and authoritative sources. Focus on E-A-T: Ensure your content aligns with the principles of Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness to improve visibility in AI-generated answers. Optimize for SEO: Use structured data to help Google better understand and categorize your content, increasing the likelihood of being featured in AI responses. Diversify Your Marketing Channels: Relying solely on search traffic is riskier with SGE. Expand your presence across social media, email marketing, and other platforms. Stay Informed and Adapt: Keep up with updates on SGE and adapt your digital marketing strategies accordingly. Continuous analysis and flexibility are key. As we adapt to this change, it's important to see SGE not simply as a challenge, but as a chance to improve our marketing strategies to align with new search habits. I will provide more tips on using SGE to benefit your business in upcoming posts. For those interested in getting ready for SGE or looking for help in updating their digital marketing strategies, De Castro Media is ready to help. We specialize in keeping up with digital marketing developments and helping our clients excel despite these changes. Reach out to us today for assistance with SGE and to use these changes as a stepping stone for growth. Look out for more discussions on how to fully utilize SGE for your marketing activities. We should tackle this change with a plan that welcomes adaptation and drives success. #DigitalMarketingTrends #SEOStrategy #GoogleSGE #ContentMarketing #MarketingInnovation

5moLoved Dana DiTomaso's session on GA4 explorations. We love to complain about GA4 but they really went into detail on all the great client-friendly visuals you can build in explorations that you just can't get in standard reports. I use them, but not enough. Need to find more time to do it. 📊
