Kicking Off Hong Kong FinTech Week 2024! Today marked the beginning of Hong Kong FinTech Week 2024, and what an incredible start it’s been! We were thrilled to hear from the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Mr. Eddie Yue, who spoke passionately about the future of digital innovation, asset tokenization, and cross-border partnerships. It’s a wrap for the Hong Kong FinTech Week 2024! Overall, it was a great event and I am very pleased with the super positive feedback on EnergyGlare from both industry partners and regulators! However, the shadow of the uncertain economy was quite noticeable this year. Also, something I haven’t really noticed before - when overseas parties express optimism about the Hong Kong recovery and growth potential, the conversation is not about Hong Kong, it is about the GBA. Apart from that, the fintech innovation continues to be largely focused on AI, an obsession that is still at its peak. There were very promising local and overseas AI solutions in the area of compliance and legal services among others. Web3 was also very well represented, with great examples of value transfer solutions that provide infrastructure for cheaper and faster transfer. I expect a lot of development to follow the future e-HKD release.
