🚀 Incredibly honored to be part of Cohort 8 of the BLCK VC's Black Venture Institute (BVI)! These past weeks have been transformative, learning alongside brilliant Black professionals from tech, cpg, healthcare, finance, consulting, and legal sectors. 🎯 This intense program combines academic rigor with real-world venture capital expertise alongside remarkable leadership. Co-founded by Jackson Cummings, Frederik Groce, Berkeley Professor Toby Stewart, and Leyla D. Seka in partnership with Salesforce, the past weeks have been transformative, learning alongside 60+ brilliant Black professionals from tech, cpg, healthcare, finance, consulting, and legal sectors. 🎙️ The caliber of speakers has been absolutely phenomenal. We've had the privilege of learning from industry giants like Bonita Stewart, Charles Hudson (Precursor Ventures), JoAnn Price (Fairview Capital), Scott Kupor and Megan Holston-Alexander (#a16z), Mike Smith (Footwork), Lo Toney (Plexo Capital), Jewel Burks Solomon and Barry Givens (Collab Capital), Adam Kiki-Charles (The Equity Alliance), and Rachel Wilson (The BFM Fund), among many others. 🎓 Through the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business and Berkeley Executive Education, the program is more than just education; it's about building a powerful network of Black investors who are reshaping the future of VC. 💫 The impact is real: BVI has already catalyzed the formation of two angel groups, launched over a dozen scouts into the ecosystem, and sparked three new funds. This is what changing the face of venture capital looks like in action.
