Six weeks into an unexpected vacation and career shift to Job Hunter Extraordinaire™, I've learned a lot and experienced more than I expected. With so many layoffs rocking the tech industry, the job market is rough, and that's putting it lightly. For context, I have been in the software industry for 20 years, working with companies of all sizes, local to globally distributed. To date, I have applied to 151 jobs and had a handful of interviews. But looking for a job is hard. It's too easy to feel hopeless, lost, or like a failure. Intrusive thoughts can hit hard: Am I good enough? What am I doing wrong? What if no one wants to hire me? If you can relate to any of these, I'm here to tell you: You ARE good enough! You're not doing anything wrong! Someone WILL want to hire you! It's the job market and the current state of the industry. Focus on your process for finding a job. Re-evaluate your resume and cover letter. Look for tools you can use to help you stand out. Don't be afraid of using AI to help rewrite descriptions using your own words, but don't just blindly ask, copy, and paste what AI gives you. Make it your own. If something doesn't work, try something new. Adapt and overcome. Connect with me to expand your network and get introductions to places that are hiring! We're all in the same boat, and it costs nothing to lend a hand. Keep trying, you've got this! #JobHunters #TechJobSeeker #CareerShift #JobSearchJourney #TechIndustryInsights #CareerResilience #JobMarketReality #JobSearchStruggles #CareerTransition #SoftwareIndustryInsider #CareerAdvice #JobSearchTips #TechIndustryChallenges #JobHuntSupport #StayResilient #AdaptAndOvercome #AdaptAndOvercome #NetworkingInTech #CareerPathReflection #AIinJobSearch #JobSearchEncouragement
