2024 has been a year of ups and downs, filled with unexpected challenges and surprising turns. As I reflect on the past year, I find myself grateful for the lessons learned and the resilience gained through it all. Early in the year, a health scare brought to light a previous injury that had gone unnoticed for years. What seemed like back pain turned out to be a result of arthritis stemming from a long-forgotten fracture. Fortunately, a routine scan led to the discovery of a growth on my kidney, which, after a timely robotic procedure, turned out to be cancerous but contained. A silver lining in a year of uncertainties. However, the mid-year brought its own set of obstacles as I faced redundancy just as exciting prospects loomed on the horizon. The sudden halt to my renovation plans added to the mix of challenges, putting a temporary pause on my projects. In the midst of job hunting and navigating recruitment agencies, I encountered disappointments in the lack of professionalism and courtesy extended. Despite the setbacks, I am grateful for the unwavering support from those who have reached out with kindness and assistance, reminding me of the value of genuine connections and relationships. Amidst the uncertainties, I have found solace in channeling my energies towards productive pursuits, honing new skills through online resources and embracing the simple joys of daily life. Each day presents an opportunity to stay proactive, focused, and optimistic about the future. As we approach the end of the year, I look forward to what 2025 holds, with renewed hope for new beginnings, career prospects, and personal growth. To those facing similar challenges, remember to stay positive, resilient, and open to the possibilities ahead. Wishing everyone a merry and safe Christmas, and may the coming year bring fulfillment and success to all your endeavors. Here's to a brighter 2025 ahead! Cheers.
All the best for 2026, John.
