I couldn’t be prouder of my sister, Pamela Flores Gonzaga, Esq. (she/her), who just took one of the biggest steps in her career: starting her own law firm, Flores Gonzaga Law, PLLC. If you know Pam, you know she’s never done anything halfway. From studying political science at FIU to excelling in law school on the Trial Team, and then completing her Juris Doctor at Nova Southeastern University, she’s worked tirelessly to become the attorney she is today. But what sets her apart isn’t just her education or experience—it’s her heart. For years, Pamela has been a relentless advocate for those who needed a voice, especially during her time with Legal Services of Greater Miami. She saw clients as real people with real stories, not just cases. Now, she’s bringing that same commitment to her own firm, creating a space where every client will feel truly heard, respected, and defended. Starting a law firm isn’t easy. It takes courage, grit, and a vision for something bigger than yourself. Pam has all of that, and I’m beyond excited to see her put it into action. If you’re in Miami and need someone who genuinely cares about justice, someone who will fight for you, Flores Gonzaga Law is where you’ll find it. Here’s to all the lives you’re going to change, one client at a time. #FloresGonzagaLaw #ProudSibling #MiamiLaw #AdvocateForJustice

Andrew LaFontaine, Esq. - a brief conversation with one of the rising stars in the Colorado Defense Lawyers community. Q: When did you first know you wanted to be a lawyer? Why did you want to be a lawyer? Andy: When I was looking to graduate from college, I knew I wasn’t ready to and didn’t want to get a job. I picked law school because my father was a lawyer. Once I got a law degree, I decided I should probably become a lawyer. Q: What is your most memorable moment in the courtroom? Andy: Maybe not my most memorable moment, but according to my father it would be after my first jury trial when I was talking to the jury and one of them said something along the lines of “You’ll make a good lawyer someday.” Q: What has surprised you most regarding the practice of law? Andy: Personally, I’m surprised to find that I’m good at it. It didn’t start out that way and I was not a good associate, but I grew into it. Substantively, I remain surprised by how much jurors pay attention and want to get it right. Q: What is the most useful advice you have ever received regarding your practice? Andy: There are three trials: the one you prepare to try, the one you actually try, and the one you wish you tried in hindsight. Q: What was the first concert you attended? Andy: I was not “cool” so the first one I attended was James Taylor in law school. Q: What is your favorite vacation? Andy: Lake Winnepesaukee when I was a kid. Q: What is your favorite fictional representation of a lawyer or litigation? Andy: A Few Good Men. Q: What would you want to be doing if you were not an attorney? Andy: If it wasn’t related to law, I would want to be hiking in the mountains. This could be off grid (once my kids are old enough to do so). #CDLA #CivilDefenseExperts #LegalGuardians #LegalProdigy #ColoradoLegalEagles

"My wish for students of color in the legal field is to see that every place is our place: tribal benches, federal benches, trial work, appellate work, all of it. There is no place we shouldn’t be." For our second Native American Heritage Month profile, we proudly feature Eldena Bear Dont Walk, Esq., MPA, LLM Don’t Walk, Conflict Defender Division Administrator at the Montana Office Of State Public Defender. We've shared just one excerpt of Eldena's reflections below, but you can read all of her responses on the Our Community page: 👉👉👉 https://lnkd.in/eXQ4jgci Q: What advice would you give to a law student of color who aspires to be where you are now? A: Law school is not a measure of success. There will be obstacles. Diligence far outweighs intelligence. There is no one path or one area of law for us. Try them all on and find what you love. I am a criminal defense attorney. I have served many roles in my career, but criminal defense is a passion of mine. Dream bigger! My wish for students of color in the legal field is to see that every place is our place: tribal benches, federal benches, trial work, appellate work, all of it. There is no place we shouldn’t be. But there are limits other people will put on us. Those are their limits, not ours. #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth #NativeAmericans #AppellateLinkedIn #lawschool
