Hi everyone, I’m Aaron Khedair, and I’d like to share a bit about my journey that led me to my current role as a Recruitment Consultant. My work experience started early—at just 10 years old, I helped out at my parents' take-away shop after school and on Saturdays. I soon realized I could do similar work without the family drama, so I joined McDonald's! 😂 After high school, I got my security license and began working in nightclubs and bars. This expanded into security roles at shopping centres and corporate buildings. where I've ended up spending 11 years in the security industry, Where I am currently Head of Security at Chicane Nightclub. Seeking a change, I moved into warehouse work, where I gained experience with RF scanning, pick packing, forklift operations, and delivery work. This led me to construction labouring, where early mornings and physically demanding days taught me resilience and hard work. When construction slowed, I returned to security. In 2019, a friend introduced me to a customer service operations role in transport at Civic Transport. I took a chance and gained valuable experience in customer service and operations. When COVID-19 hit, I was fortunate to be considered an essential worker. This period introduced me to recruitment, where I learned the industry’s ins and outs, took on responsibilities like OH&S inductions and payroll, and eventually managed my department. After five years, I joined Talent Focus Recruitment in Labour Hire, where I’ve found it incredibly rewarding to help candidates find their ideal jobs and build their careers. It’s been a pleasure working with talented individuals and matching them with roles where they can thrive. The journey into recruitment has been a learning curve, but one I’ve embraced wholeheartedly. Building relationships with clients and candidates, understanding their needs, and making lasting connections is what makes this role so fulfilling. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue growing in this industry and helping even more people find roles they’re passionate about. I was thrilled, but the excitement didn’t last long. I quit after just one day, and let me tell you why! 😩 The Hiring Process: The process felt relatively easy, which made me a bit skeptical right from the start. I had two interviews—one with the office staff and another with the store manager. They said I’d have to do a couple of evening shifts, but they assured me that wouldn't kick in until later. 🤔 First Day Experience: On my first day, things got really weird. The atmosphere was off, and the two managers seemed to think it was funny to crack some bizarre jokes. To top it off, they kept calling me “new hire” instead of using my name. C’mon, people! 😤 The Assessments: They handed me an iPad and told me I had to complete 87 assessment courses. You heard that right! These courses weren’t even relevan... Posted 1 day ago, this job has 0 applicants, despite being promoted. Why? Because it’s an entry-level warehouse “picker” role. That’s it. It’s no different than every single other warehouse picking role in the world. Why are companies trying to church up role titles thinking that’s going to get candidates in the door? Meanwhile, no salary info. No shift info. Vague benefits info. Literally not one shred of information a rational job-seeker would want to see before applying (and I would bet their application process isn’t a breezy one). Am I the only one who finds these entry-level roles being “otherwise titled” extremely annoying?
