Jail time for a CEO. This is a big deal for bank non-executive directors and executive directors. #aml #cft can be a tough nut to crack. Not least because of the #sanctions regime pace of change. Clear understanding of what is going on in the depths of a bank is tough. Always, we return to culture and upward communication working well. Which means listening to challenging messages and not shooting the messenger. It also means not casting whistleblowers as malcontents and troublemakers. And it certainly means not covering up ugly truths. As Peter Drucker said: "the best decisions are based on dissenting opinions".

Interesting that it appears to be a Disclosure related charge relating to statements made during earnings announcements,

Good point on culture. If the top of the house does not set the good standards, who will!! It is still a big challenge when it comes to whisleblowers. Internal whistleblowing process has a painful conflict of interest hurdle to jump over.
