The latest NBA performances have been quite thrilling! Ben Simmons is starting to show signs of a comeback, especially with his impressive 10-assist game in just 12 minutes. Latest for WoodyPaige.com. Busy offseason for the NBA looms to solve an offense-crazy league. #nba #sportscartoon #carnivalfolk #nbamemes #karlwimer My accompanying story on the website: Offensive Heavy NBA and Future Tricks With a regular season in the books and deep into the playoffs, the NBA can look back at an offensive explosion that averaged over 114 points per team per game. Rules changes that limit hand-checking, zone defenses, and crowding shooter landing space (among other things) set the foundation for higher scoring many years back. Highly skilled shooters like Steph Curry threw gasoline on the fire, with 3 point shooting accuracy we've never seen before. Importantly, facets of the European game were also effectively absorbed into the NBA by way of hard-to-miss offensive MVPs and stars like Nikola Jokic, Giannis Aantetokounmpo and Luka Doncic. Defenses have mostly not been able to keep up, so scoring has soared. Week in and out, teams routinely posted scores in the 130s. Twice the combined scores of teams topped 300 points. Fans love scoring in nearly every sport, but to what degree? This will be the question the NBA asks itself this off-season, so don't be surprised if we see some interesting changes come October 2024.

🏀 NBA Makes Controversial Statement After Warriors-Nuggets Game: A Breakdown The recent Warriors-Nuggets clash wasn't just another game - it was a masterclass in how one moment can define an entire NBA narrative. **The Critical Moment:** In the game's final seconds, a phantom timeout controversy erupted. Nuggets guard Christian Braun appeared to signal a non-existent timeout, and the referees? They watched it unfold without blinking. **Officiating Under the Microscope:** Referee crew chief Tyler Ford's explanation was clinical: Braun's timeout signal wasn't "clear" enough. But in a four-point game, "clear" becomes a razor-thin line between victory and defeat. **What This Means for the Warriors:** This isn't just about one game. It's a microcosm of their current season - struggling, fighting, but somehow always one critical call away from turning the narrative. **The Bigger Picture:** Charles Barkley isn't holding back, questioning whether this Warriors squad has the championship DNA of previous iterations. Are they a dynasty in decline or a team in transition? **My Take:** Officiating is human. Controversy is inevitable. But great teams adapt, overcome, and silence critics on the court. **Your Turn:** - How would YOU handle this situation as a coach? - Do controversial calls define a game's outcome? Drop your thoughts below! 👇 #NBA #Warriors #Basketball #SportsAnalysis #CompetitiveMindset

Many fans in the NBA may ask themselves if the NBA players are so good, why can they not defend Steph Curry? Golden State is one of the most highly scouted teams in the NBA. Teams in the league take days, sometimes weeks, to prepare for Golden State and Steph Curry because Steph can easily take over a game with his effective shooting, scoring, and facilitating, which is the last thing teams want in this league. If teams scout enough, watch film effectively, and prepare for Steph in practice, teams should be able to stop him from even getting a shot off right? One of the best ways Steph and every good shooter gets open is through screens, specifically the shooter setting screens. This video here shows specifically how Steph will set off ball screens for Draymond, Klay, Kevon Looney, and even former Warrior player I liked Alfonzo Mckinnie. These off-ball screens led to these players scoring but what we don't see in this video is Steph popping off these screens and getting an open shot for himself. As a shooter, it is so important to set screens because simply setting a screen for a teammate will open the shooter up for a good second to get a shot off and of course, it is always good to set screens to try and get teammates involved and the offense moving. For all guards no matter how big or small you are, set screens because that is a key way to get open without the ball, guards need to stop struggling to get open by just running around the perimeter and simply cutting in the lane, set a screen for your bigs, your point forwards, and even other guards, it will open the floor for your shot so much. Just watch in this video how many times if Steph popped or rolled he would be open for a three or layup. Also, next season watch for the screens that Steph sets and see how those screens get him open and disturb the defense of all their plans.
