🌟 30 Days of Sales Insights: Day 10 ✅️ The Trust Factor 🤝 When I first started selling tech, I thought it was all about pitching the best features and closing the deal quickly. I’ve since learned that trust is the real foundation of every successful sale. People don’t just buy products; they buy the confidence that you’re genuinely invested in their success. I remember one particular client early in my career. I was so focused on making the sale that I didn’t take the time to really understand their needs. Needless to say, I lost that deal, and the trust that could’ve led to future opportunities. That experience humbled me and shifted my perspective on what sales is really about. Here’s what I’ve learned about building trust over the years: ✅️ Be genuinely curious: When I speak with prospects, I’m not just asking questions to tick a box. I truly want to understand their challenges and goals. It shows, and people respond to that authenticity. ✅️ Show up and deliver: Trust is built in small moments. If I say I’ll send a follow-up email or deliver a proposal by Tuesday, I make sure to do it. Consistency matters more than grand gestures 👌 ✅️ Be honest, even when it’s tough: I’ve had conversations where I’ve had to tell a prospect, “This might not be the best fit for you.” Surprisingly, these moments often strengthen the relationship because honesty builds credibility 💡 ✅️ Offer value without expectations: Sometimes, I share a resource, insight, or connection that could help a prospect, even if they’re not ready to buy. It’s not about the immediate sale; it’s about showing you care about their success ↗️ Selling isn’t just a transaction. It’s a relationship. And trust is the glue that holds it together. Prioritise them. → Make the conversation about them. When you talk to your customers & prospects you MUST make the conversation about them, their business, their pain points and their wildest dreams. Not yours. → Do nOt FeAtuRe bASh Your customers and prospects don't actually care about your product. They care about their business. You should make them believe that's all you care about too. → Make sales a daily habit. Whether it's outreach, follow-ups or refining your pitch. Block time every. single. day. → Pick up the damn phone. Calling is the most effective way to get in touch with someone. Period. It can be scary. Take a deep breath.
