WHAT'S WITH THE HEADPHONES !? What goes on in a Commentator's ear, as they are partaking in making an audio-visual journey for the viewers. Here's a video where you can hear the voices of the director and the creative producers coming through the earpiece provided to me in one of the matches I had the privilege to call. ++ Add to that, more Commentators sitting next to you, people coming in and out of the comm box, intercom for stats and info, dabbling a console for queries, etc. And all this in real-time covering live action. Navigating through what could seem at first a lot of conundrum and distraction, until you find a way to blend in and become one with the chaos. Broadcasting is so much about creating a clean product out of utter chaos. Same as cinema or any other production. P.S. The whole crew is multitasking. #commentator #auctioneer #announcer

Nothing new here then... literally! And perhaps that's where one of the biggest problems lies. There's a word missing from the headline - it's OLD IP that's dominating the U.S Box Office and that could be the reason for a staggering 12% decline in year on year box office revenue. This article from The Ankler's 'The Entertainment Strategist Guy' poses the question that he's been asked as a result of the article 'Why Don't You Tell Us Where to Find the Next IP Hit?" It's clearly not sustainable to continually rely on the reworking of hits from the past - but where do you find the NEW hits? When it comes down to it, and if we had it our way, our desire is to spend our mix days with folks we enjoy being around. We ALL have a story about that one guy or gal who just made the dub straight up PAINFULL. DON'T be part of the problem. Nurturing our relationships in this industry is extremely important. This goes toward building a solid reputation with our peers.
