What happens when Google’s AI overviews give patients the wrong health info? AI-generated overviews are now answering patient questions directly on search pages. That means patients may get the answers they’re looking for without ever clicking through to your site. 🚨 The danger? Misinformation, or incomplete information, in AI summaries could impact patient trust and spread inaccuracies. What can you do to combat misinformation? Here are some strategies to improve your site’s visibility in AI overviews and keep your content front and center: • Create patient-centered, plain-language content. Google and other AIs prioritize clear, easily understood language. Use patient-centered language that’s simple, direct, and trustworthy. • Build and maintain topic authority. Focus on content that covers all aspects of key health topics. Comprehensive content improves your authority and ranking potential, helping AI algorithms recognize you as a reliable source. • Regularly update high-traffic pages. AI models favor fresh, relevant information. Review and update pages that receive the most traffic to ensure they remain current and accurate. • Add structured data. Use schema markup to provide context to search engines, which helps AI understand and categorize your information effectively. • Evaluate your content for SEO and E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness). Make sure content is optimized with the latest SEO practices and emphasizes credibility. Google’s emphasis on E-E-A-T helps AI models surface reputable sources in overviews. • Show up other places people search.  It’s not all Google, all AI, all the time. People also search for health information on social platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. Patient trust is on the line. By making sure your content is factual, accessible, and optimized, you’re enhancing your hospital’s online presence and (more importantly) helping patients access accurate information when they need it most. #healthcaremarketing #hospitalmarketing #AI
