Engineers know the frustration - marking up a note or legend meant for just one sheet, only to discover during the review that it's inadvertently appeared on multiple sheets. The culprit? A shared legend view applied across several sheets. To tackle this issue head-on, I developed a simple tool that checks if the last item edited is part of a legend being used on multiple sheets and resets when the edit is made in a different view. With this tool, we can ensure that notes and legends stay exactly where they're intended, saving time and avoiding revisions. #engineering #Revit #automation #efficiency #AEC #DelveUndergroundAddins

𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭. As engineers, we know that time is of the essence. Whether it's drilling a new well or managing existing assets, the ability to quickly and accurately analyze results can make all the difference. Why? Because your expertise should be focused on solving problems, not wrestling with complex software interfaces. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: 1. 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧-𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Clear, accessible data means faster, more informed decisions. When the analysis is straightforward, you can easily identify trends, anomalies, and critical insights without sifting through layers of complicated data. 2. 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲: When software tools are intuitive and results are easy to interpret, you spend less time on data crunching and more time on engineering solutions. This not only improves efficiency but also allows for quicker iterations and innovations. 3. 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐬: Simpler, more accessible result visualization reduces the risk of misinterpretation and errors. Accurate data interpretation is critical in ensuring the safety and success of engineering projects. 4. 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞: Tools that streamline analysis free up your cognitive load, allowing you to channel your energy and expertise where it truly matters—engineering. The right software should feel like a natural extension of your workflow, not an obstacle. At the end of the day, it’s about enabling you to do what you do best—engineering innovative solutions. Let’s celebrate tools that prioritize ease of use and empower us to achieve more with less hassle. We'd love to hear how easy result analysis impacts your daily work and project success. What is ELUME? The system known as ELUME is EMPACT Engineering’s modular, cloud-based software platform that drives quality, speed, and collaborative interaction between EMPACT’s internal and external partners. Its modular platform acts as the portal through which EMPACT team members track the progress of projects and workflows, providing transparency and visibility into those projects for clients and other external partners. The wide array of feature-rich tools provided by ELUME creates an open and user-friendly ecosystem in which users from different organizations – be it EMPACT employees, clients, contractors, partners, or other stakeholders – with different objectives can collaborate in real-time to advance the progress of their projects and initiatives, regardless of size, scale, or type. Modular Design: Customize the ELUME platform to support engineering management, joint use permit management, grid resilience, geospatial, and vegetation management. Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources, including LiDAR, field inspections, and stakeholder inputs, to provide comprehensive insights. Scalability: Scale the ELUME platform to accommodate the growing needs of utilities as the grid evolves.
