Here are 4 reasons to sell your products through retail stores: 1. The Power of a Megaphone: Think about all the times you've discovered a new product while shopping in a store? Retailers offer a loudspeaker for your brand, amplifying your reach. Plus, being featured alongside big names can skyrocket your brand's credibility. 2. The Retail Matchmaker: Retail can be like a matchmaker for your product and customers. With the right retail partner, your products are perfectly “matched” to your target market. Retail sales associates help bring your product into the hearts and homes of your customers. 3. The Logistical Guru: Navigating the world of distribution and customer service can be a maze. Retail partners smooth out the bumps in the road from warehouse to customer hands. This partnership allows you to focus on what you do best - creating amazing products. 4. Simplified Selling: Direct-to-Consumer requires substantial investment in advertising. Retail simplifies this with booking orders and selling through established channels. You get a straightforward sales process without paying the Meta tollbooth. Did I miss anything? What do you think about bringing products to retail vs DTC?

When bricks and mortar retail buyers lose sight of what consumers are really looking for, they run the risk of failing to deliver what their employers actually pay them to do. If senior retail management continue to fail to stay ahead of the market, they become the lawful prey of the e-commerce giants whose key strength is not innovation but price advantage in the same old low-risk, (low margin) big brand controlled, established categories. E-tailers are not renowned for being pioneers of new tech. They are self confessed ‘amateurs’ in launching new, market diversifying products, IE new products to new markets. Their strength lies mainly in delivering products the customer already understands at a lower price. So when new manufacturers come along, with ground breaking, customer proven innovative products, why do so many retailers react in a negative way? They say ‘no one knows your brand’ or ‘we don’t think there is a market for this’. Do any of you remember a time before Dyson vacuum cleaners? I do, as I was present when James Dyson presented his first product to Rumbelows in 1993. I can tell you now, we (Rumbelows) were not his first choice customer, but we became his first retail partner. I you are a bricks and mortar retail concern and you want to stay in business, you need to seek out innovation in order to attract customers. It’s a simple truth. You will not beat etail if you have nothing more than ‘customer service’ to offer. Am I wrong?
